I watched this morning. Really pretty pieces but mostly sold as sets, haven't bothered to do a price comparison. The very naughty Fiona kept referring to it as semi-precious. Crystals on enamel on silver plated base metal - I don't think so Fiona.

Amethyst, peridot, etc. and the various minerals classify as semi-precious, NOT glass.

I have to agree, i caught some of this today

It goes to show the kind of depths that Gems has gone too thesedays - cheap rubbish that's silver plated with crystal rubbish for big prizes. Do they really take us for mugs now

Fiona even mentioned that they were the kind of thing you see in All Saints. I think they would be horrified at the comparison being honest

shame shame, but the lack of comments on this range just shows you how few people are even bothering to believe the fake hype with Gems thesedays.

My lots are hooked on Rocks and Co and Rocks TV, are they the same thing by the way. They have similar names after all
 
I flicked over to Gems for a second yesterday and Scott was saying that they specialise in jewellery, they don't sell pots and pans or sheets, just gemstones. Perhaps Scott hasn't seen the latest ranges of tat that Gems are flogging (or the handbags). I just can't watch anymore these days as I get so annoyed with all the rubbish they are spouting.
 
I saw a trailer for the next big thing. Iron Fairies - some sort of garden ornament.

Hi VP,

No - RocksTV and Rocks & Co are entirely separate and connected in no way whatsoever. You'll be interested to know that RocksTV (the internet only site) is owned by the Bennett family who were the directors of Gems in the early days (when you knew what you were getting and the customer service was excellent).

Grief! Whatever next - I remember sometime back GTV spouting off how they only sold gemstone jewellery - no cz's etc and always set in precious metals. How the mighty have fallen.

It is a shame though, I'd dealy love to see the return of the 'real' GTV.

Oh crikey Miss K, I've yet to behold that wonder!

Whilst, of course they'll want to grow, they have three channels, so they could at least do its original jewellery customers the courtesy of keeping the tat out of one of them.

I think its not a bad thing really, gemtv are selling named brands now of some items, but their prices are very competative from what i saw (refering to a dent item) so not all bad. good gift ideas as add to order items is how i see them, i doubt i'd pay postage just for a named brand i could buy elsewhere unless it was alot cheaper on gemstv, but if i was already ordering and saw something at a good price i may order it then. Nice to have a bit of variety too on screen. I am refering to dents jewellery accessories and pilgrim jewellery, i am not sure whats going on with the cheap looking bags etc thats being sold.

rocks and co are great vegas, their silver stuff is really nice :)
