Deep in the heart of Mozambique, an equally beautiful eighth wonder has lain undiscovered for thousands of years, until now. Rocks & Co. is excited to announce the much anticipated launch of Shimoyo Rubellite at 9pm Saturday 25th April and 6pm Sunday 26th April. From Monday 27th April Shimoyo Rubellite will air daily at midday, 7pm and 9pm while stocks last. Read on to discover this gemstone’s story…<br /><br />Beauty, rarity and durability have long been considered the three cardinal virtues of a perfect gemstone. Undeniably rare and wonderfully wearable, Rubellite’s sensuous blend of reds, pinks and purples define its breathtaking beauty, making it a popular gemstone and a favourite of discerning collectors. But what makes Shimoyo Rubellite special?<br /><br />In five words: ‘exceptional quality and genuine rarity’. Shimoyo Rubellite embodies the ‘classic’ colour for this variety; an intense raspberry that is not too dark or too light, with no brownish tints. Only the highest quality gemstones that meets exacting colour, clarity and faceting standards has the distinction of being called Shimoyo Rubellite. Its beauty aside, Shimoyo Rubellite hails from a very short-lived discovery in Shimoyo, Manica Province, Mozambique. The Shimoyo Rubellite deposit was only in operation from January to April 2008 with a reported output of 10 kilogrammes of facet grade crystals, a small amount of which is fine quality. With only four significant modern deposits, fine Rubellite from any locale is extremely scarce. When you consider its quality with the fact that Shimoyo Rubellite is no longer mined, this gem is a ‘must have’ for any serious connoisseur and the hallmark of a refined jewellery collection.<br /><br />Each piece of fine jewellery featuring Shimoyo Rubellite comes with an ownership booklet that guarantees its authenticity. A modified version on this booklet is available online as an e-zine at <a href="http://www.rocksandco.com">www.rocksandco.com</a>, simply click on the banner above. <br /><br />You can shop online with Rocks & Co. at <a href="http://www.rocksandco.com">www.rocksandco.com</a> or watch them live on Sky channel 642 from 8am to 2am. Hi Everyone:

For those that don’t know me, I’m one of the gem people behind Rocks & Co. and the author of ‘The Clever Gem Buyer’ http://www.rocksandco.com/book2/books.asp.

You may remember me mentioning in a post early April about a new gem I couldn’t then reveal that will be a big hit. Well, it is Shimoyo Rubellite and to say that I am excited about its premiere is an understatement. It is absolutely gorgeous and collectively the best Rubellite I have ever seen.

With only four significant modern deposits, fine Rubellite from any locale is extremely scarce, but alas the Shimoyo Deposit is no more; it finished production in April last year.

Your can read more about this gem in the online version of the booklet that will come with every piece here http://www.rocksandco.com/gzine/shimoyo.asp, but to wet your appetite I have attached a few pictures. A few of these are images of loose gems, but as usual, all our Shimoyo Rubellite will be sold set in jewellery.

I hope this helps. As always, please let me know if any of you have any questions about this or any other of the new arrivals at Rocks & Co.

Best Wishes,

Gav

It looks beautiful, but I have a horrible feeling that it's going to be eye-wateringly expensive!
