hi all:HELLO:

I have been looking for a paraiba ring for some time, I really want to add one to my collection :BLING:
I know that PT on gems is mozambique paraiba, not as gorgeous as the brazilian PT, but also more affordably priced
I read the blue toned ones are more valuable than the green toned, but I like a caraibbean green/blue toned colour

I read here before, especially in posts from our knowledgeable meesho that you need to see the stones on telly, as the pictures on the website are enhanced.

What do you think about the following 2 rings? i have seen the piccie and a short video, they look nice, but I don't want a wash out of colour and look like aquamarine

Also, do you think PT is better in a YG or WG setting?

thanks

Hi Tia .... this thread will answer a lot of your questions:

http://www.shoppingtelly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10063

All I can say is every PT ring ring I've had from Gems in the last couple of years (and it's a lot) has gone back and I've given up now. They were all washed out with big windows and didn't look anything like the colour enhanced photos on the web.

This is one I sent for in July last year and it was £285

I was sooo disappointed when it arrived, it looked absolutely nothing like the photo .... more like a pale mucky sea green colour with a big window and it went back by return post. Wish I hadn't deleted the photo I took.

I suppose the only way you'll know is to send for one or two and make up your own mind. And maybe, just maybe, you'll be lucky and get one you love ... hope so!

White or yellow gold? I'm a yellow gold only girl but I think a really good PT would look lovely in either.

I think there is only one way to tell with Paraiba tourmaline whether it's what you're looking for or not and that is seeing it in the flesh. I kept three out of four that I ordered. The first I kept was an original Paraiba with tiny stones, the one I returned was Mozambique and didn't glow with the neon light from within that Paraibas should have. The next one had the colour I wanted, swimming pool blue, but not a great cut. I kept it because the price was reasonable. The final paraiba was more of a green hue but really glowed and I thought it was a reasonable price. In your links I preferred the design of the first ring in the white gold, I liked the colour of the stone, too. If you can stretch to it, my advice would be to order all four and see them for yourself. Hope that helps, Tia. Here are some pictures of the ones I kept...

Can you post up videos of the first two?

PT looks great in both white and yellow gold.

Hope that helps.

Thaaaaaanks Meesho and everybody for your info
i could only find 1 video, the other ring must have sold I guess. I will probably wait a bit longer till I can find a nice PT, I will try to catch viewings on tv if I can.

Looks ok(ish) and might be worth getting for a peek but don't hold your breath. Due to the lighting in the video I THINK there's a window BUT really can't see because the white light is blanking out the stone for a good look.

The lighting they use in their videos is highly deceptive but it's better than nothing!

Thanks Meesho,
Hmmm, the missing video is back
This ring is the most expensive, but is it worth it?

Oh for goodness sake, they should be called Everest Double Glazing (other window companies are available). Again, windowed. It's a shame because the colour and saturation around the edges is very pretty. It MIGHT be worth a look because the window might disappear when it's on your hand but it's probably too big. The bluer one looks the most promising of all.

Tia have a look at TJC tonight at 7pm. They have a Tanzanite Evening and as they are the biggest Siteholders of Tanzanite One, in my humble opinion they have the best Tanzanite. I wouldn't buy it from any other TV Channel.

I've seen some really nice PT on TJC,yes it's pricey but no dearer than rocksandco and much better stones,I bought one 3 years ago from gemstv,£299,1.50cts,lovely turquoise colour,it had an inclusion but with PT it's colour and saturation first.

In all honesty I wouldn't recommend one channel over another to buy PT from. It's so hit and miss. Each channel has dire specimens but then suddenly up pops a beauty. It's all about patience and sitting glued to the telly I'm afraid!

However, if you want to venture out of the telly based vendors there's some glorious PT to be had.

Must be the pneumatic drills I've been subjected to by the builders all week!

On the other hand I could say it was a deliberate mistake to see if anyone noticed??
