Saw this on air a few days ago http://www.gemstv.co.uk/shop-detail.jsp?product=UNT4604&category=preweb&colourScheme=2
and it looked a tiny carat weight about 0.30 ct but they say its 3.52ct and they were asking over £600 for it also its only as size 5.5 but they didn't even mention this when presenting!, then there is this one http://www.gemstv.co.uk/shop-detail.jsp?product=UMQ8773&category=preweb&colourScheme=2 now i know gem stones have different densities but this seems a bit extreme 7 diamonds 0.86ct but the 7 sapphires weigh 3.43ct, is it me or has someone got all the carat weights wrong? there is alot of these ruby and sapphire rings in the gems shop but i can't be bothered to look at all the details!

I can't work out the first ring because there are no measurements but for the second ring......

1 x 2.4mm square cut Sapphire is approximately 0.10ct each (difficult to be precise without knowing the depth).
1 x 2.5mm square cut Diamond is approximately 0.10ct each (again, difficult to be precise).

That means total carat weight for this piece would be no more than 1.40ct. I wonder if somebody has transposed what should be a 1 for the 3.43?

The first ring was so small on air around 0.30ct i'd say but the presenter kept saying it was 3.52ct it was driving me mad anyone could see it wasn't, it just made the presenter look like she hadn't got the first clue what she was going on about!
