For typically pastel gemstones like Kunzite, intense colours are an uncommon geological rarity. The vivid highly saturated colours of Patroke Kunzite are extremely unusual and highly prized, making it some of the world’s finest Kunzite.<br /><br />While Afghanistan is a major world supplier of Kunzite, well-cut, high clarity examples with saturated colours are incredibly scarce, but highly sought after. Named for its mine, Patroke Kunzite (pronounced: Pa-Tro-Kee) hails from the Kunar Valley in Afghanistan’s Kunar Province. With intense colours making it the exception rather than rule, Patroke Kunzite is a remarkable and incredibly rare gift from nature. The renowned Brazilian gem hunter and lapidary, Tony Diniz is the person responsible for first sourcing Patroke Kunzite while on adventures in Afghanistan’s Kunar Valley in 2007. But we all KNOW about Patroke, so why on earth would Rocks and Co think it a good idea to try hitting us with this "NEW", "EXCLUSIVE" carry on?
I don't know: all the Banking sleaze, the Political sleaze and now we can't even SHOP without having to suffer all this flannel.... no wonder I'm turning into an ( even) grumpier old woman!
Good grief, if I get any angrier I may even clean the house!

To be fair, Gems only had a limited run of Patroke kunzite - and it is new to Rocks & Co! Since Tony Diniz apparently sourced it for Gems TV, it might be difficult for Gems to get it again.

It was expensive when Gems had it, but it is beautiful and a unique shade (very different from "normal" kunzite) - I love my Patroke kunzite ring.

I didn't expect to find myself speaking up for Gems anytime within the last year or so, but beg to differ a little MissM, as Gems had some this morning in a kunzite hour. There is another tonight, although I don't know if this too will have patroke. xxx
