Quite excited here. I've done it - I've ordered what I hope will be my dream Tanzanite stone from TJC!

I watch on Freeview and (since I can't sit watching all morning) what I usually do is tape it, then fast forward through it later. (It stops me making impulsive buys, too!) So last night I was watching the morning's offerings and VB showed the most beautiful 4ct oval stone. To my amazement, it didn't sell. Altho' it wasn't IGI certified, it LOOKED absolutely incredible. I was a little frustrated thinking that if only I'd stayed in for another 15 mins, I could have grabbed it!

So I watched the clip again, and again this morning, and thought... oh my god, it is definitely gorgeous! So at midday today, I phoned the Personal Shopper with the item number and (to the dismay of my credit card) it was still available, and still at the 'clearance' price!

The 'shopper' I spoke to was lovely, btw.

I'm still choking a bit at how much I've spent (£949 + P+P) BUT on the positive side, it cost me £500 less than I was expecting to have to spend on my 4ct stone, so now I can put that £500 towards getting it set in white gold. I even remembered to use my discount card!

Fingers crossed it's as lovely as it looked on-screen... if it ain't, it's going straight back because I can only spend this much money once! Well, it certainly wasn't an impulse purchase as I've been thinking about it for 3 years... and promised myself I'd get something this year. Just had to share my excitement with those who understand!

Oh good for you RubyRose. I really hope it exceeds all your expectations and you can get it made into a piece of jewellery of your dreams. Can't wait to ogle it. :D :pPC:

That's great news RubyRose, hope it's beautiful irl and you fall in love with it. Will you have it set in a pendant or a ring?

Wow - three years - you're one very patient lady Rubyrose. <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D4%252F4%255F6%255F109v%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_109v.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D4%252F4_6_109v%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a> Let's hope it gives you pleasure for many, many more. xxx

Thank you for all the comments! It's such fun being able to share this! I've been lusting after a large-ish tanzanite for so long that it doesn't seem real, and I won't believe it's real until it actually arrives. Unfortunately I won't see it until Friday at the earliest as I'm going away for a couple of days (and have to hope the courier comes while my hubby is in!)

I intend to get it made into a ring. Pendants are lovely, but the trouble is, while you're wearing it you can't look at it (unless you want other people to wonder why you're staring down your own cleavage, of course...) Klosblue was advising on another thread about getting tanzanite made into jewellery, which was incredibly helpful. I've come to terms with the fact that a) it's likely to cost at least £500 and b) I need to find a jeweller who is experienced at working with tanzanite!

Anyway, no hurry for that. I'm trying not to get over-excited in case I have to send it back, but still, I feel a bit like a six-year-old waiting for Christmas...

Thanks for giving me the credit RubyRose but it was actually Meeshoo who posted all the advice. Unfortunately I've always been a "ready made" girl whereas Meeshoo has the brains, knowledge and contacts to be "haute couture". Classy Lady our Meeshoo unlike me who's just as common as muck! :giggle:

Can't wait to see your finished item RubyRose.

Oh - EEEEK! - sorry! Thank you for pointing that out (I should have gone back and checked!) It was under the 'WOW' thread.

MEESHOO deserves the credit for the great advice!

Thanks Meeshoo! xxx
