In the middle of nowhere!!
I have today received a letter from GT! informing me that they have noticed i havent shopped with them for a while!!! Good Grief!! What do they consider as a long time? me, it would be a few years!!! I havent bought anything since, now wait for it........ MAY 2009!!! I havent bought anything since then, as nothing has really caught my eye! I watched today, Scott and Rae, and i am sorry but i couldnt watch for too long, it was really false, and unnatural. I feel stalked!!!!!!!!!!! :flower:

Did they at least offer a discount or something of that nature in this letter?

Yazrose - they offered a ten per cent discount up until the end of this month; and i was wondering if it can be used on everything - even clearance! Yes, they seem to be watching us! I wonder if they have seen the film Enemy of the State? (Will Smith in) good film, makes you think ! :flower:
 
One of their good points PG is that they don't restrict what you can buy with a discount, other than you cannot use two different ones at the same time. xx

Not to mention expensive, but I think it may take the heat off the presenters and help to avoid too much repetition and open mouthed shock. Some double headers would be really scary though and could end in a competition for the camera!
 
At least they have gone back to offering discounts - there were none at all for a while (apart from a measly £5 off which didn't even cover pp).

I did an online survey and got a 10% discount, which I thought I wouldn't even use, and ended up buying a fancy sapphire and diamond bracelet and earrings with it!
 
Yes Miss M - I'm being greedy. I got one of those too and used it thoroughly so hopefully all sides were happy. xx
 
aaah so that is what they are calling a double header!! nothing to get excited it about - bit of a snore fest today, Scott and Rae - they reminded me of one of those cheesey JML adverts!! Now if it was Daniel Craig, Russell Crowe or Sean Bean, now that would be worth dropping everything for! to watch - buts thats just my own fantasy - lol :grin: :grin: :clapping::smirk: xx

Watched Scott and Rae yesterday, one of the worst double headers I have ever seen, although having said that IMO none of the double headers I have watched recently have worked, as you say false and not chemistry.

'It is quite funny they beg you to shop again with them and tell poor Julie Finch that she can never shop with them again.
 
Updated News from GTV

Yup! they noticed I haven't shopped for a while either - now my last three orders were December, February and June so not sure who does their research but on dodgy ground there. Still I might have cause to use the 10% discount before 31st July - not holding my breath though.:smirk:
 
Well! I'm a bit miffed because I spent an absolute fortune with Gems and placed my last order in July 2008 but what do they do? They send the 10% discount thing to my husband!! Granted he bought a fair bit from them too (all for me he he), but it's the principle of the thing. I can't see me ever buying from them again mind you but if they sent me a 90% discount code I might be persuaded!
 
If i had received the letter i would sent it back with exactly why i had not been ordering recently... CRAP presenting, cheap tat and highly overpriced gemstones with a smattering of shoddy CS to boot and see if they bothered to respond!

Graham, I know that GemsTV used to have a computer system of some sort that flagged up customers who ordered a larger than average number of items and then returned a higher percentage. They would then block customers from ordering because it takes items off sale that they could have sold elsewhere. I guess this system is still in place. However, I do know that they would look at the amount of £s being spent by the same customer and would also make a judgement on that. I was concerned because I had a high rate of returns BUT my spend was also high so I guess it balanced out somewhere along the lines.

I'm not sure how I feel about this system but I guess it's just the same as QVC sending out letters complaining when people return items. Although I have to say that I think the QVC approach is far worse - why should somebody keep an item when it's not acceptable????
 
Yikes! I just ordered thousands of pounds of rainbow sapphires, and sent the great majority of them back - I hope they're not going to block me! I really needed to see the items before deciding which to keep. (I did keep a couple of high-value items, so hopefully I'll be forgiven.)

Being blocked from ordering sounds awful to me - I would be gutted. I would hope they would at least send a letter or e-mail first, warning the customer before just blocking them.

The fact you keep some high end items MissM means you won't get blocked I would think. I believe they don't block somebody lightly so I wouldn't worry. When I was buying tons (and returning just as much) to GemsTV several years ago, I never was blocked. I think they do an analysis of spend etc so blocking is really a last option.
