Great idea of mine to start a new thread just before the forum went down......hope it wasn't a contributing factor! :ANYWORD:

The fabulously clear real diamond was brought in from Hatton Garden (I think) to demonstrate, if any, the difference in appearance between these Chinese made simulants and the real thing. Adina had loose stones of both types and compared them continuously throughout the extended show.

All the items on sale can be accessed from a link on the Gems home page....and what I want to know is where the piece that costs only £24.99 is....a set of stud earrings that were pictured before they were auctioned on the telly for £39.99?? :cheeky:

In all honesty I've never seen a simulant out-fire / out-shine / out anything a diamond! Mind you for under £30 even if it does a good show it'll be worth it!

I know how ridiculous! Maybe it's because they're not used to that sort of quality at Gems TV these days!

There were 2 stones in the box and he had delivered them apparently. He sat in the corner of the set watching Adina like a hawk as she teased about swapping them round!

The fire from the true diamond was superb and lovely to see.
Most pieces were sold in large numbers and flew out, in spite of what I personally thought
were high prices and considering the gold weight was miniscule in many of them!

Hate to admit it, but I did watch some of that awful programme. I'm pleased to say that I DID pick the real diamond out each time Adina said, 'I bet you can't tell which is the real diamond'!!!

I really cannot understand the need to be selling this 'stuff' - first they sell moisonitte ('scuse spelling) and now this - what has got into them??????

No I didnt watch it, thought it would be the usual glacier topaz and the ice zircon range - but couldnt watch it any way, not without laughing ! I will tell you why - had an email from gems informing me of this gold and ice night, and i was telling my son, (I was in dining room, he is in front room, playing on x box) and i shouted and spoke in a sarcastic way, "ooh i have an email from gems, all about their gold and ice night, lovely!" he replied, "What, who has a golden Arse?" I couldnt stop laughing! its either my accent - or he is hard of hearing - but it still makes me chuckle when i think about it! :flower: xx

There are fake diamonds and there are fake diamonds. Don't worry I'm not going to jump on my soapbox about this again but until you have seen Moissanite in real life then don't knock it or compare it to your usual lab created stuff! I adore my Moissanite solitaire ring and the reason it's so much more expensive than the other lc stuff is because is it totally different, with even more fire than a diamond - proven scientific fact!

I generally like my gemstones coloured, but have been looking at this today out of curiosity. They have to be kidding? Boring jewellery, boring presenter who seems happy to tell a few porkies. I see the manufacturer doesn't believe in design, so Gems can't even justify this with originality. At least that Vintage stuff is fun, not to my taste, but I can see how some might enjoy it. I'd say they've made a big loss on these two hours.

What a pity they don't go to so much trouble to teach us about the grading of diamonds when they are selling us diamonds! xxxxxxxx

Soz Klos - I do remember having seen you mention this before when others have commented on moissanite.

I,m definitely not knocking anyone who has bought any Moissanite - and I appreciate that it is expensive - and people wouldn't pay that much for something if they didn't think it was worth it.

My point was that they are bringing in more and more 'created' items, after banging on and on about only selling the 'real' stuff. The new things too, are IMVHO real tat!!!!
