Don't see anything much different from their usual stuff. Prices very high and not sure many people from here would buy diamonds from them after all the "coated" carry on!

Gems TV have desperately lost their way and sadly imho I see no way back for them.

I quite like quite a lot of the pieces (which will almost certainly be cheaper on air than the online shop), but they do look very, very similar to a lot of Gems' other recent designs. Wonder if that's where they've been getting it from all along, and have decided that it might be good marketing to advertise the fact?

P.S. I do NOT like the carrot with a face on (if that's what it is) - just in case anyone's wondering, after the frog pendant...

Apparently, the jewellery is all manufactured in the US, in New York I think. So no wonder it's a little more expensive - labour costs in NY will be somewhat higher than Thailand, methinks!

All much of a muchness really - strange Gems are now importing from New York! Which brings me back to what I was going to say, when I first saw some of it - it reminded me of the Joan Rivers collection, as frequently shown on the other channel that has the logo Q V but not for you!!! Lol!! - perhaps thats what is happening to gems, they are going to morph in alongside IW and QVC, selling absolutely anything that they consider to be either tasteful or tasteless! it is now a dog eat dog world - even Rocks and Co are tightening their belts with transmission hours. and no, personally i dont like the jewellery its not for me.

Lol Miss M, I think it may be time for you to get that telly now. It's a pusscat walking towards us (head, chest and front legs), though I can see the carrot now that you mention it. xxxxxx

I did see that piece on air, and I realised my mistake - I really did think it was a carrot! (Although to be fair, it didn't look much like a cat either, even when I knew what it was supposed to be!)

Must admit I have ordered one of the Effy pieces (though not the carrot/cat of course) - I got this one:

Don't know whether or not I'll keep it, but interested to see what the quality and finish is like.

I've a feeling the quality will be really good. Although there were only a few unusual designs everything looked well made with an eye to detail. Good gold weights as well, there's so much flimsy stuff about now. I was tempted by a silver ring (the cream enamel with a smokey quartz pear shape, surrounded by beautifully graduated coloured sapphires), but nearly £200 and at this time just couldn't be done <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D36%252F36%255F19%255F5%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_19_5%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a> xxxxx

Never mind, Arge - wait and see what gets returned after Christmas! You never know!

You're far more polite than me! I keep thinking "Eff'ing collection"!

:mysmilie_61:... or the "Eff'ing iffy collection" maybe.

I have no idea what this Effy stuff is like - haven't watched for ages cos I can't bear the music these days.

Arge, "your" ring is currently available in the online shop for £136.49. Why not stick it in your basket and think about it for a bit...?

Whoa Miss M - cheaper in the shop? That must be a first and thanks for spotting it. Having resigned myself to it though, I shan't look at it again or the brain damage will start all over again. A couple of months on though and I'd have have bitten your hand off for it. Is yours due to arrive soon? xxxxx
