It is likely that this will happen soon. Over the past 4-6 months we have been building new studios, warehouse and call centre in Leamington Spa. The purpose of this is to improve the customer service experience for all of our customers as well as consolidating all of our business into a more efficient format.<br /><br />As a consequence of this, the company will be moving and as part of UK regulations we have to make all staff redundant and offer the new positions to those that are interested in moving with us.<br /><br />It is a sad moment for us as we know many of our staff are London based and will not be able to make the move with us. Also during this period of the move for the next 15-30 days we will be reducing our broadcasting hours."<br /><br />From 18th December, 2009 Rocks & Co. will be live 7 hours a day and from 2nd January, 2010 we'll be live 5 hours a day. These reduced hours will ensure you continue to receive the very best service during our move to our new location. The specific channels and times are listed below:<br /><br />From 18th December: Freeview Channel 40 (1pm - 6pm), Freeview Channel 32 (Midnight - 2am), Fiver Virgin (Midnight - 2am) and Fiver Sky (Midnight - 2am).<br /><br />From 2nd January: Freeview Channel 40 (1pm - 6pm).

Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

When a Company decides to move an operation, it has already planned (way in advance) how to move it WITHOUT disruption (especially to the customer). I've just been involved in moving operations from all over Europe to the UK and it was a seemless, well thought out transition that didn't affect customers at all apart from a well publisized change of phone number.

Interestingly, the customer care department in the North East was actually a JML operation that I believe Rocks and Co piggy-backed on and always had the intention to move away from so ............... why suddenly the move away from Sky????? Doesn't add up. Presumably there are transmittors in Leamington Spa?!

Perhaps if they actually had customers (with the exception of Tony Diniz who I understand has a lorry load of Tanzanian Rubies if anybody is interested) there would be no need to move away from the expense of Sky operations.

Let's face it, to stay in business and compete how on earth will they do that without Sky? Oh well, why should Rocks and Co break the habit of a lifetime and do anything that makes business sense?!

Maybe every time a customer placed an order they asked them what channel they watched on and only 3 said sky! :mysmilie_61:

Looks like they will be out of business soon enough...TV channels want to be on SKy not come off it!!

Probably can't pay the bills to stay on Sky.

As you will see from my thread posted BEFORE Rocks & Co, I think they are soon to be no longer. Shame! :mysmilie_17:

Hey Meeshoo do you have Freeview? I don't so maybe they're moving to get away from us - the "negatively disposed" duo :mysmilie_61:

I feel a song coming on, now what was it again? Oh yes I know!
So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu :mysmilie_698:

This is really weird and doesn't make sense at all. I read Tony Diniz's statement and am completely baffled by it. Surely Sky would offer them the biggest possible audience? I don't watch them anymore, so won't really miss them, but I think there will be a considereable improvement in Klos' blood pressure.
MissM, do you have Freeview? You are still such a loyal fan and I'm sure you would miss them if you don't.

I agree with Meesh. It makes absolutely no sense. If you look at the pieces and prices of what they are pushing, their target audience is far more likely to be found on sky, not freeview, so why cut yourself off from them??? And as Meesh says, the single most important thing when relocating your business is ensuring there is no impact on your customers. You want to get as close as you can to ensuring, that your customers don't even know it has happened.

Curiouser and Curiouser, as Alice would say!!!

Makes perfect sense to me why they are leaving the sky platform...

"They must know they will never be able to compete with Steve Bennett's prices and Rocks.tv new channel 647 which will go live in January 2010...

Gemstv next maybe who knows...just my thoughts!

Well ... seems bonkers to me to leave Sky.

I can get Freeview, but it takes too much effort to press a button the remote ... and as John will be elsewhere then I guess I don't need to worry too much! No point in switching to Freeview just to get irritated by Tony Diniz's dourness.

I hope they sort themselves out cos it's good to have a bit of variety and competition to keep them all on their toes. I suspect, however, that Rocks TV will soon become a shining star on our Sky screens along with TJC. Gems TV has seriously lost its way.

I've got a spare freeview box if you want:mysmilie_12:

How relieved will Rocks and Co be Klos? You and I don't get Freeview! Who's going to be negatively disposed/abrasive to them now? Mind you, don't think it'll be long before they'll be disappearing into the bling ether!

Such a shame because they showed so much promise at the start but greed, hyped up rubbish, idiotic presenters, treating customers like second class citizens and a service that put you off buying wasn't exactly a great start! AND NOW they're pulling out of Sky! Honestly, you do have to marvel at just how wrong they get it ALL of the time!

The only thing they got right was to employ John and he's escaped to TJC!

All together now ........... "So long, farewell, auf weidersehen, goodbye ......"

Johns gone to TJC? Its a shame for the ex gems tv presenters as probably out of a job. Times are really hard for most people in the UK, how on earth do r&co think that they will sell items for £1000+ they should be selling items that are cheaper.

I've got a spare freeview box if you want:mysmilie_12:

What a very kind offer but regretably, on medical grounds, I must decline :mysmilie_17:

Mind you, you'll all get bored without my rantings although they have been few and far between recently! :mysmilie_61:

Maybe I should watch for the next few days while they're still on Sky for a few hours a day? Then again, maybe not!

Sorry I couldn't find a hammer and nail icon :mysmilie_17:

...I only watch online too.

At the risk of being blasted out of the water again, I agree with another poster who said that at least R&Co brings unusual gemstones to the screen. Also, the thin gold weights on their rings often look better on my hobbit-like hands. I prefer their onscreen graphics to TJC's too (TJC's are hard to read without a spyglass). Plus, if you watch online you see the price fall before it appears on the TV - you get about a 3-4 second heads-up (yes, I know, so you can laugh before everyone else...).

All R&Co haters out there, don't flame me. I can see their faults, but I don't want TJC to have a monopoly on online bling. It will just inflate prices...

How odd, but then the whole operation seems strange as has been pointed many times before.

I only have Freeview... I will never pay a penny to anyone called Murdoch!! LOL But that's another matter.

I don't think anyone would "flame" you for expressing your opinion - everyone's entitled to do that. Despite you having returned quite a few items, you obviously like their jewellery as does Miss Magpie. Again that's your choice, taste is a personal thing and it's just as well we don't all like the same things! However everyone has the right to spend their cash with whoever they wish.

Personally I won't shed a tear if they go as I believe they deliberately mislead, lie, deceive and treat the public like idiots! Apart from John, I couldn't bear to listen to the screaching, gasps and stupid faces of their presenters who would tell you Christmas was on the 14th of August if they thought they would get a sale out of it! IMHO their range is over treated, over priced and over embellished for my taste most of the time.

I don't think TJC will inflate their prices because they are the most ethical, honest and genuine Jewellery Channel currently running auctions (Rocks TV not running auctions yet). They are owned by one of the largest jewellery companies in the world and while Rocks & Co and Gems TV have basically committed commercial suicide with their abysmal management, TJC have come on leaps and bounds of late.

Only my opinion of course.
