This is Korite http://www.korite.com/ the company that suppy Ideal World, my ring was back and forth to Canada, the problem is the stone is coated with something that just doesn't last and starts to go cloudy and peel off.

As Korite own the mine I remember when QVC sold Ammolite Ken (Ideal World Guest) explained that they only sold like the top shaving can't remember exactly. Will be intresting to see if GemsTV have much blue in their Ammolite or just Greens and Reds.

Some lovely Ammolite in this thread from a couple of years ago http://forum.shoppingtelly.com/forum/showthread.php?p=39748

I was looking forward to a nice long gemmy evening, as I like the looks of the Italian goodies and although it's not for me would've liked a look at the ammolite. I've just switched on to find myself being shrieked at by Vicki C, so straight off again. As it's the weekend, it has also just occurred to me that we'll also have to put up with James. Have these thoughts just ruined my plans or does anyone know different - PLEASE? xxxxx

James did late last last night so think he just may be doing the Italian and Ammolite :( on the other hand Vicki C has become unwatchable.

Boohoo, when I saw you'd posted Graham, I thought you might have some better news for me. Looks like a film for me then and some of those chores I should have done already. <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D15%252F15%255F5%255F20%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D15%252F15_5_20%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a>

Thanks anyway xxxx

I thought Ideal World had the UK rights for selling this type of gem from Canada? :mysmilie_81:

Have they given it the big heave ho, or are the Canadians trying to flog it off to anyone who will sell it on their behalf? :mysmilie_81:

As for the gem, it's quite unique I think, but I still prefer my favourite (ie Tanzanite) :mysmilie_687:

It'll be interesting to see if these are natural, doublets or triplets. The problem with doublets and triplets is that the layers (over time or if exposed to water) can work loose (a bit like an opal doublet/triplet). Looking at Graham's link, Korite also coat their Ammolite in a protective coating - which looks like it may have issues from Graham's post - so if these are the people supplying GemsTV (and there are other suppliers) it may be another consideration.

I'd be tempted to ask Gems what they're selling. Personally, it's a gorgeous gem but I would only buy a natural (which of course means more moolah!).

Good-oh, it's Angeline (though no longer my neck and neck favourite with Lynn still watchable). I can do without the ammolite if James takes over. :mysmilie_696: xxxx

Flamin' 'eck, 25 minutes in and we're just getting into the second piece. zzzzzzz I can't be doin' with this, Ideal World stylee. xxxx

The details say triplets http://www.gemstv.co.uk/search.jsp?colourScheme=9&category=all&searchtext=ammolite

I like the murano glass pendants, only thing i don't like is most don'thhave a bail, and with the chain etc just put through the hole in the pendant i don't think looks too good. so would have to either tie silk cord on it, or add a bail.
