Tony Hillyer to leave GemsTV

GemsTV will make a further announcement as soon as an agreement between the company and Mr Hillyer has been reached.<br /><br />Mr Hillyer's reason(s) to leave the company, with the cessation of operations of the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Gems TV (USA) Limited and consequent shrinking of his role Mr Hiller has decided to explore new opportunities.

Let's hope his replacement can get Gems TV back to the excellent channel it used to be and away from the total nonsense it is now. Over priced jewellery, hard selling presenters, ridiculous music, faux pearls et al have no place at the Gems TV we all crave. Let's see a return of the days when we could come on this forum every day to see what lovely pieces everyone had bought. Nowadays the only postings in the Gems TV section are to criticise what a shambles it has become.

Ditto. I used to watch gemsTV regularly... not any more, but willing to do if I see some improvement!
I think this will be a "test" to gemsTV, either they improve or keep it at the same level (slowly going down on my ratings) and sooner or later they wont last long...

I think all the original customers of Gemstv wish for a return to the old days Klos, but is Tony Hilyer the sole reason Gems have turned into such a tacky channel? I've read a few names that Graham posted about (some from BidTV?), but can't remember who they are or when they joined.
If he's not the instigator of the current shambles, maybe he's deserting a sinking ship. I know I'd be worried if I worked there and as for the many couples who are still employed there, well I'd be making plans and looking around because that's the whole family income at risk.
