At approximately 4.10 this afternoon, Lucy exclaimed in her usual operatic, overacting <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D36%252F36%255F13%255F4%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_13_4.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_13_4%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a> manner, "you'll never see this again at the price it's going to today, never, never, never". Not much more I can add really, other than she is consistently coming out with phrases that will ultimately harm this channel. If she weren't so loud and excitable, perhaps we'd not notice. Grrr! Serves me right for channel hopping. xxxxxxxxx

I've just come back from over two weeks away and switched on. As soon as I saw it was the screaming Lucy with her overacting, I switched off again. The rings she had still looked exactly like Rocks items, so I gather nothing has changed in my absence.
By the way, have I missed a sale for the old Gems stock? I had a lovely pendant in my basket which disappeared along with the old Gems website and was rather hoping I'd be able to trawl through their sales items again to find it.

Hope you had a lovely break Jacqualina. I too was away (for a short while), but it does look like its all the RocksTV items that are being sold.....judging by the item codes. I'm not sure but I think it was said that they still have GemsTV pieces but perhaps need to be catalogued?? Hopefully at some point they will be back on our screens....:smirk:

Hi Sacha

you are correct. We have had to wait for the independent auditors to stock check all of Gems TV products, hopefully by the weekend we can start selling Gems TV items too.

Plus over the next few weeks, all of our new Gems TV deliveries will start coming through

regards to all at ST

Steve

Goodo. Have just done a Sainsbury's order, better go back and start trimming it down. A girl has to get her priorities right. xxxx :mysmilie_378::mysmilie_8::mysmilie_47:

I also heard the other night Carol selling a piece of jewellery and said this is the lowest we can go on this so I will wait all night if i have to at this price until someone comes in for the last however many it was we cant go any lower so again so much for dropping the price until they are all sold the game went on and on and eventualy the last ones did sell but this isnt in the spirit of the falling auction is it and several peeps in the chat commented on this to at the time

So ......... not a falling auction where it falls until everything has gone.

This a falling auction with a set bottom line. Not quite the spirit of a falling auction is it?

I used to love the falling price auctions that rocks did initially. Now they were true falling auctions and many items did drop to a £1!!

and there was me just hoping that Lucy wasn't thinking. Interesting that Steve chose to answer Sacha's comment about Gems stock, choosing to ignore my opening remarks, the actual subject of this thread. Hmm - not impressed. xxxxxx

PS - Apologies to Lucy as it appears from the lack of response that she was in fact correct.

I'd like Steve Bennett to address Carol's behaviour the other day - as one of those watching when Carol announced that she would sit there all night as she wasn't dropping the price any lower - I was most unimpressed. The Pink Peeps suddenly decided to blank chat and no one leapt in to defend what was happening. Above anything else it seems to fly in the face of what is regularly announced by the presenters and the Bennetts themselves on Rocks and gems i.e. "genuine falling price auction" are they really............

Have to say if it happens again when I am watching and I am more alert to noting things like the time and item number I may well lodge a formal complaint with the appropriate authority, though maybe another chatster has beaten me to it, a couple of people were certainly thinking about it

That kind of stroppy pushy approach doesn't do the channel any favours at all and Carol's loose gob will get them into trouble if she isn't muzzled.

I'm not sure it's fair to blame Carol, more the puppetmasters, i.e. producers and channel managers/owners. I'm beginning to think that advantage is being taken of the rather strange love affair some people have for this company. If falling auctions are coming back to bite Steve on the bum, then perhaps it's time to say so.

In fact, I think in general the whole falling "auction" nonsense needs looking at. xxxxxx

It is not really Carol's fault, surely she is having to think of things to say in response to what she is being told in her ear by the producer? After all it is the producers who run the auctions now, they decide the price drops etc...Only way to stop the Carol and any other presenters from saying things like the other night is for the producers to keep dropping the price, which is what is supposed to happen in "genuine falling auctions".

Yes you're probably right in what you say Arge and Sazz but I just don't warm to Carol's brash delivery.

I can totally understand your sentiments, Pinkpussycat! When RocksTV first began, I used to watch avidly because there was many a bargain to be had. Loved Barry but there was something about Carol that I just found offputting. I found her manner demeaning to potential customers and her delivery harsh and patronising. There were quite a few complaints then but Carol appears now to have mellowed and doesn't allow hereself to get agitated and sarcastic when items are not sold. Her spiel, however, has become repetitive and she ought to consult a thesaurus.
