Please tell me I'm not the only idiot to sit through TJC's biggest ever auction today for 6 pearl necklaces! How sad am I?

It reminded me of TJC in the bad old days when they didn't use a clock and spent so long on each item that you could go to Tesco's for your shopping, come home put it away, make a cup of tea and sit down, all in time to bid on the item they were selling when you left! If they ever went back to that then I for one would be looking for a new jeweller before the suicidal tendancies, which this channel used to give me, came back!

Sorry TJC but I don't see the point of this 'largest auction ever' today. It was a totally boring experience and imho the price for such a large quantity should have been much lower. Vicky kept referring to being a part of this "very exciting day". There was nothing exciting for the viewer so the excitement much have been for the benefit of TJC staff. How Vicky Brown managed to talk about 6 strings of pearls for so long, I'll never know! What did sound rather silly however was when there were 1082 left and she told the viewers they needed to be quick!

Well, I think the auction started at 11am and it's now 11:34 so time I turned the channel before I turn into some kind of zombie or raving lunatic!

Oh and by the way, I didn't buy them!

Sorry Klos, can't join you in the Idiot Corner hon. As soon as I switched on TJC early this morning and saw all the tat that was being wheeled out on 'California Day' that was quite enough for me to turn it off and start rearranging my knicker drawer, which I suspect was far more exciting. This 2nd biggest auction ever didn't tempt me to switch on again either so is Vicki still attempting to big up 6 strands of very cheap looking dyed pearls in garish colours and struggling to flog the last 500+ then?? :emo:

No TJC for me either, I was much more interested in watching live TV coverage of the Pope's arrival in Edinburgh at the start of his state visit to these shores.

I have to agree with you PPC, it should be renamed "Californian Tat Day"! It looks like cheap kiddies stuff and it saddens me to see this sort of rubbish sold on a channel like TJC. Must have a massive profit margin for them to lower themselves to this level methinks!

Hee hee! Not sure whether to laugh or cry! I switched on at 11.30 and it was still going at noon when Freeview went off. By then, Vicky B was wearing a 'crown' of party popper streamers!

No, I wasn't tempted, not even at 'less than £5 a string'. I don't wear pearls. I can't even think of six people who'd welcome a string of pearls as a (cheapo) gift! Particularly not the lime green ones, urk!

I managed to clear up the kitchen and take a slow shower while the auction was on, and it was still going when I got back to it around noon. It reminded me of why I didn't use to watch this channel until the last few months. <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D23%252F23%255F11%255F55%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_11_55.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_11_55%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a> xxxxxx

I can beat you all for excitement. Sky were showing the penultimate episode of Dynasty. Sammy Jo is in love with a Catholic priest; Blake's got dead bodies and Nazi gold under his house and Sable is pregnant with Dex's baby and Alexis is yet to find out. See Ladies, there is more to life than TJC/Gems/Rocks etc... :giggle:

PS; Can't wait for tomorrow's climax...

I dread to think what channel you'll be watching then! :drunk::drunk:

Yeah Meesh I've joined your club, had to go shopping and I actually booked a computer at the library so I wouldn't miss it.
Have had a bit of a pash for pearls lately.
However still a hope for me as I thought they were cheap looking and disapponting, although it did kinda ruin my day.

Thought they looked awful on the previews, so didn't bother to tune in at any point during the long drawn out sale. I'm not surprised it took so long to shift them, they looked cheap and nasty.

How much did they sell for? I wasn't watching, but saw them on a promo and thought they looked seriously cheap and nasty. I love pearls, but not if they're tat!
