In the October Scoop there was an interesting article by Steve Bennett on how to assess Emeralds. On the subject of treatments he mentioned that whilst some 0.5ct plus Colombian emeralds are in the main fissure filled with wax or resins, the Zambian variety tend to be only oiled and often it is with..........Johnsons Baby oil !
So if your ZE ever loses lustre, immerse your ring etc in a small tub of oil for a few hours to restore it to its former glory. Sorted! :nod:
