.....that "illusion set" and "invisible set" are 2 different things!!!! I have lost count of the number of times I have heard an item of jewellery being described wrongly.

I, like so many of you, have left the fold having been a loyal and regular customer previously. However, I do still have a look from time to time and this mistake is becoming more and more common.

Unless I am very much mistaken, "illusion set" gems are built up with a surrounding of reflective white metal to create the illusion of a larger stone. "Invisible set" gems are placed close to each other with no visible claws giving the effect of a larger single stone when in fact it is made up of several smaller stones. So, with "invisible" what you see is all gemstone whereas with "illusion" a large part is actually metal. Rant over!

I concluded some time ago that these people have no morals and will say absolutly ANYTHING to sell jewellery. Before anyone buys from GEMS TV they first need to study the heck out of what they are buying because you can't trust a damn thing these people say

Rant over
( I bought an amazing invisible set diamond cluster from QVC, it's one of my favorites)

Just saw Emma on Gems TV Extra.
Missed her once she went from Rocks.

Was watching for a short time late afternoon and saw Rod present a Diamond cluster ring with 9 princess cut stones set in a 3x3 square. Now I thought to myself, is he going to say its an 'illusion' setting or 'invisible' setting. But no, instead he described it twice as a 'silver' ring and once as a 'yellow gold' ring, when in fact it was made of white gold!

So does that make it.....I for Incorrect or C for Confusion? :smirk:

...Or D for Dipstick?

I would have to say that he's the only puppy I've ever felt the urge to kick...
