I've noticed many times that a product is introduced as "new" with an introductory price and an invitation to "be the first to write a review".
In fact, the product may have been on previously, with lots of reviews.
There is an example of this today - -

I bought this item about 2 years ago when it was a TSV (£32-64 + £5-45 pp), and there were loads of reviews (including mine) saying that while it looked good when switched on, there was virtually no colours when switched off, the whole thing just looked very dark and unattractive.
They have craftily changed the item number so the previous reviews are not shown. I checked the previous item number and got "Sorry, this item is currently out of stock" although it is identical to mine.
