Can anyone enlighten me as to what A3 Melee Diamonds are?

And tell me why a 1ct diamond ring made with them should cost £399?

The dictionary definition of "melee" is as follows : a confused fight, a confused crowd of people.

I rest my case, m'lud!

I suppose it is called ' Pulling the wool over our eyes'

Not mine tho..............

Another dodgy sales pitch , me thinks .

I googled Melee diamonds and it talked of small pieces and chips but how do find out the grading if you wanted to?

Melee is a recognised term in the jewellery industry for lots of small accent diamonds. I think my good friend Miss Kitty is asking what A3 melee diamonds are? Miss K - forgive me if I've read your thread incorrectly.

Post number 8 written by Sacha contained a cut-out from Scoop magazine where GemsTV have explained their new way of grading diamonds!!!! If you read the whole thread you'll see I was incensed by it. Interestingly, I can't find anything on the GemsTV website that explains this!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Meeshoo and Sacha.

I find the whole idea confusing and agree that Gems.tv should stick with the standard system already in use. And have something on their web site if they are selling diamonds described this way.
