Oh dear, what a disappointment. Only the second piece, a trilogy at £129, and the two outer cabs are seriously different heights. It would have been an excellent purchase with a nice sturdy 3g of gold and I was nanoseconds from bagging it. <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D15%252F15%255F5%255F20%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D15%252F15_5_20%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a> xxxxxxxxx

I bet if you ordered three in order to choose one and send back the others, you'd get one which didn't have this problem...

I don't have the sort of dosh MissM that I could tie it up in such a way. I'd chance just one but returning items is so difficult for me. I have just risked something in ordinary mail as I don't feel able to ask someone else to go to the faraway Post Office and queue for an age. xxxxxxxx

PS - I wish Steve would stop harping on about the gold prices in the High Street. We are now getting how he's not allowed to do it "due to some reason in our over-regulated society". What a sore loser!

Just caught the very tail end of Steve's hour, lovely "cluster" of Opals with great colour play... a few too many stones in one piece for personal taste tho.

As I am desperate for some really nice opal jewellery I have a selection on its way. The two clusters because they have good gold weight, and two others. I really liked the one you chose Argey, but have that coming in a larger size for my middle finger and am worried it might be too big.

To be fair to Emma Jeffares , says tells us all this morning that at Gems , they not allowed to compare prices but tells us to do our own research on the web. How refreshing , to be sold jewellery with this fresh honest approach. And her nails IMHO is just what we are all looking for. :)

Did anyone see Stacey's badly chipped falsie on TJC , yesterday ?? I am amazed she hasn't been shown the door!

I will upset some fans I know as I used to be one but Steve's style of presenting of self appraisal and defensive talk and over sales bant, off putting and unwatchable for me.

I think all the presenters on GEMS have improved although Victoria is still know in this household as THE HANDS......LOL

PPPS . I stupidly wore a 3ct Welo opal pendant on a diving holiday and it cracked badly , so buyers of this opal , treat it delicately

I have ordered a few pieces, but in general I thought they were very disappointing. The Welo Opals on Rocks are much larger with (generally) much better colour play. They are more expensive, but I have a couple of glorious pieces (a 3.5 carat pendant and a 2.5 carat ring) at £279 and £239 respectively. I know that's a lot more money, but the stones are fabulous. I ordered quite a few and did have to send a lot back though. The settings on the Gems pieces were mostly lovely and plain and much nicer imo than the Rocks settings.

Sootoo and Jacqualina, please let us know what you think when they arrive, and Jacqualina, I do so agree about the plain settings. A good opal can be as mad as a box of frogs and to have an ornate setting in competition can ruin that. xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oooo, glad you got your Welo opals in the end, Jacqualina!

I would really like a(nother) pair of earrings with good clarity and plenty of diamonds, so fingers crossed Gems TV will have some like that.

Will do Argey. The stones are all quite small, but if they have good colour play, theyll still be lovely.
MissM, it was mostly thanks to you that I persevered with the Rocks&Co Welos and I have had to send loads back, but I managed to nab a pendant with a lovely stone (though the bale is horribly ornate and I'll have to have that changed) and a ring that came this week which is just alive with colour, glorious! They really do vary tremendously, but I'm happy now. Many thanks for the encouragement.
