Am awaiting a label to return this set as the 1st time I used the tongs to turn some jerk chicken they stained. I contacted CS and said that surely silicone shouldn't stain and they said I should have coated them in oil first? Never heard this before and would that mean they would need oiling after every wash too?

Thanks for posting this. I got the set in green but haven't used them yet. Just had a look at the instruction leaflet which was in the box and it doesn't say anything about coating them in oil. I'll have to try them out now but, like you, I've never heard this before.

Got them to replace a tefal set I have had for 12 years as the bit that connects the tongs snapped and tefal said they don't make them anymore this is the third tongs I have tried and non of them have matched up
