As it's gem day, how about having a bit of fun making up our own names for new gems.

For example, QVC should definitely have HYPE-ITE, and BALANTINITE.

We can add descriptions as well.

For example DAWNITE, an artificially light-coloured gem, in such short supply that QVC have totally run out of stock, but it is rumoured that IW may get some stock in the future.

Bullshite....we've been able to obtain very high stocks of this so no need for us to put it on One Time Only.

Twinkel-lite
a beautiful gem, with natural inclusions which can give it a wonderfully ethereal display of cloudiness, representing a wonderfully ethereal cloudy English summer day but nevertheless with amazing sparkle if the light hits it (and you move it all the time) benefiting from beautiful faceting

Northern-ite, a premium range of stones found on the Nile banks, available for those with seriously deep pockets. Not to be confused with Hoppen-ite, a very hard stone which only comes in light brown.

Crockoshite, this rare gem is almost unique, iconic, loved by Cheryl Cole, available by private appointment, designer inspired, preeestigeous, etc, etc etc.

Crocoshite looks dazzling teamed withPolyestercon, the colours are intense and swirling, almost halluginocenic, you can't get this stuff on the high street

Kirkatite, a shimmery crystal that sheds magical dust but has a sharp steely core...

xx

Franksite - becomes anything you want it to be, colour, shape and size. So desirable you will want some in every room of your vast house to just look at but never use/wear.

Kid-you-on-ite.A rare gem that you and no-one else has ever heard of.An investment piece if you are around for the next 6,000 years when it might just be worth half of what you have paid today. But if you love it for your jewellery collection don't let me stop you.

Clairyfairywowzerite...a flakey yellow gemstone artficially coloured with many faces all of them false.

rubeeeeek- a new addition to the "-eeek" collection. A beautiful, prestigious, affordable* gemstone with all the charm of a real ruby. Even an expert jeweller couldn't tell them apart! (Note: No, rubeeek is not just red coloured CZ, even though they look exactly the same and have exactly the same properties, chemical makeup etc. Honest!)
gravelite - tiny dull grey gemstones that resemble sugar crystals. Often used as accents or even on their own in jewellery. Salespeople often jokingly refer to them as "diamonds". Also known as grittite.

youregonnalovethisitssuperbite - created for the bored presenter who can't think of anything to say.

slowrevealite - for the presenter who loves to tease the ladies with whats in his box.

consideredpurchaseite - for the presenter forced to sell a £500 ring, with an unusual stone that looks like it fell out of a small child's nose that can't think of any other selling point.
