not the cheapest but what do you expect

It's beyond me why anyone would want to spend the best part of £375 on a camera that uses regular AA batteries when most cameras come with a rechargeable battery. I have a compact camera and a DSLR and the rechargeable batteries last for ages.

Because if your battery runs out you can find AA anywhere and they are cheaper that specific lithium batteries , some people prefer them :)

I agree completely. Having bought a Fuji with a built in NP40 battery, I found it would run out while taking photos. It could only be charged in the camera, so the whole thing became useless.

To overcome this, I had to buy more NP40 batteries (not cheap) plus a special charger for them, so more equipment to carry arround.

Since then, I vowed never to buy another camera with a built-in battery, but only to buy cameras that use AA or AAA. This means I can carry spare AA/AAA rechargeable batteries (which are much cheaper) and last much longer. Also, a charger for these is much smaller than the NP40 charger, and I also use it for batteries for other items too (radio, toothbrush, shaver, ipod dock, etc) so I only have to take one charger on holiday.

In an emergency, you can buy normal AA/AAA batteries virtually anywhere,

You can use both types of bettery in this camera according to the bloke demonstrating it, and indeed shown on the spec list so it's not even an issue.

Is Fuji TSV

Hi is this Fuji a REPEAT TSV looks like a model I have seen before but i may be wrong does anyone know

I think we are talking about 2 different aspects of the batteries.

Calvin said he did not understand why anyone would want to use AA batteries, as he preferred special-purpose built-in lithium batteries. I pointed out why I DID want to use AA batteries.

When the QVC presenter said the camera could use both types, he meant ordinary AA batteries, OR rechargeable AA batteries, not specialist batteries like the NP40 that my first Fuji cammera used. My two more recent Fuji cameras both use ordinary or rechargeable AA batteries.

My main problem is that each new model is so much better than the previous one, but I am NOT getting another one.
