Are they both the same? I know they are worth naff all but is the Sit-up network trying to conceal something here?

I reckon they are trying to make out that the piece of 'gold finish' jewellery in question is more valuable than a 'gold plated' item, but in fact it is the same thing.

It's this sort of ambiguity makes me want to distrust these channels even more. I have not seen this 'gold finish' term used on the other shopping channels.

As far as I'm aware 'gold plated' means a micro amount of gold covering cheap metal and 'gold finish' means it's the colour of the cheap metal with no actual gold required.

Yes, I think that is right. I assume 'gold finish' is similar to 'gold tone' - no actual plating involved. A real sign of the quality you expect from Bid!

I've heard of their silver stuff going green after not so long.

I wonder if the Gold finish would give the end consumer a fake tan?

I think you're all being very unfair: I mean, who WOULDN'T want to give their loved ones a gift that looks like it fell out of an Xmas cracker, or make them look like a mentally-afflicted drag queen on LSD?

JUST the thing for Nan!
