Just been watching smarmy con-merchant James Russell flogging some tat jewellery under the banner of it being a 'gold clearance'. This is completely misleading because none of it is actually gold, just gold-plated, and that is something totally different. Of course, there are the constant references to, 'all that gold', 'chock full of gold' and 'substantial amounts of gold' - trying to bamboozle the viewer into thinking they are getting something that actually has value in the amount of gold :grin:

That old fossil, Peter Simon, said the other night that you were getting 'a huge amount of gold' on something that was plated to one micron in thickness - that's one thousandth of a millimeter - the actual gold value on that would be absolutely miniscule, probably less than a penny. And it's not as if you can extract the gold to melt it down into some kind of nugget anyway.
