Just watching my favourite presenter and Angeline has twice mentioned she's leaving! Tonight! Oh no!
Anyone know what's happening, please?

On FB they are saying she is going to America to Rocks TV (aka Gems USA)

You can just imagine what we're going to be left with, yeah, all the childie women. I'm so glad I've already given up on all three companies. This slow drip, drip of worsening service and programming is just appalling. In fact I've watched no shopping telly at all for a week now. I think the Leah incident ion TJC was my last viewing. I'm not missing it which surprises me. xxxxxxxxxxxx

With apologies for the rant....

Is there some secrecy about all this? Angeline last night just referring to her leaving 'GemsTV UK' and then Lynn, her bst mate, came on and just wished her congrats for the AGP? accreditation. Nothing about how we'll miss you etc!

So what other nasty surprises are we in for, on the QT? Who else is off and away without a backward glance? If there's speculation on their FB page, which I can't access, and on here, time for SB etc to come clean and inform their longstanding customers and viewers what the h*ll is happening!

As you say Argey, what will we be left with.......immature sounding underdressed young ladies who do not have the nous and experience of the established presenters?? They do not appeal to the older viewer whatsoever....imho.

AGP?

Some of the presenters have been wittering on FB and Twitter about revision and it appears some of them are taking a GIA exam today? Do they need an exam to present now?

Some of them were on a course last week, I think, Sazza. I recall SB talking to Scott, at a changeover time, how prepared he was for the course and exam. It may be AJP.....Accredited Jewellery Presenter?.....couldn't quite make out the exact initials. Even Lynn got it wrong last night and from I understood, and she said she's doing the exam today! It may well be a GIA thing.....something they all need for presenting in the US?

I thought they were broadcasting from the UK though hence the studio more for Extra? Maybe the old skool presenters might do the odd UK shift.

Thanks PJ, now its starting to make sense. Where are you getting your info from, if I may ask?
I managed to read some posts on FB and it seems Angeline will still be around in the 'Studio Complex'. But not on our screens....where she should be!

And whats with all the cloak and dagger stuff? SB likes to talk, so he should start informing viewers and customers as a matter of courtesy about these forthcoming activities. Its only good manners!

I was thinking the same Argey..............xxxxxx

Its the AJP course run by GIA. Accredited jewellery professional, basically a course in selling jewellery but of course Steve and the presenters will hype it up to be much more . Anybody can do it, costs around 200 quid and can be done in house at certain centres or it can be done online by distance learning. I go onto an American forum and GIA certificated diamonds are pushed in America. GIA ceritificated diamonds are supposedly considered to be the best certificate to own as opposed to EGL, AGL or in house grading certificates. I can see it now, presenters saying they`ve had GIA training and flogging Gems sub standard diamonds by using terminology used by the like of Tiffany, Bvlgari, Asprey etc who`se staff are GIA trained because they actually sell GIA certificated diamonds, Gems don`t. Another bout of kid-ology on it`s way I think.

If the name thing is corect (and I too have heard it somewhere but can't for the life of me remember where), then it looks like we've been misled - yet again. I distinctly remember Steve telling us that the name had been changed so that there would be no doubt about what product they sell. At the time I thought he must have very little regard for his customers if he thought we couldn't work out to what "coloured rocks" alluded, whereas he wanted a clearer title for an American audience because they're too stupid to work it out. What an attitude! xxxxxxxxxxx

Even the horrendous James Russell has managed that one, and now puts himself out there as a gemmological expert. xxxxxxxxx

For those who are interested this is the description from the GIA website of the course the presenters are doing from Gems. Hopefully they`ll practise what the course teaches them ( it mentions honesty .... ) and we`ll be sick of hearing about the 4 C`s cut, carat, colour and clarity etc. One day the customers might come back with 4 C`s of their own .... cr*p being one of them !

Lol Vienna, and we all know how honest the ghastly James is. I think even if the Gems presenters really wanted to follow any moral points, I doubt they could stick to it as their old habits are so deep routed now. To be fair "honesty" in presenters of any shopping channels is hard to come by these days.

While I'm here I see I misspelt gemological, a constant thorn in my own side, what a twerp! xxxxxxxxxxx

Blimey Graham!!
have you been watching lately?
I'd say Vicki is a true pro compared with some of the presenters recently on lol
