I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who share your pets with us. Not only are they entertaining in themselves, but help remind me of my own late pets. For people like me who would love to have but are unable to manage a pet of our own, these little snapshots and stories are lovely. xxxxxxxxxxxx

Awh, argey that's nice.
I must admit to being totally besotted with my Meg & treat her like a baby, but she will be the last. I've had a cat, sometimes two at the same time, all my married life, but .......

We are both feeling very sorry for ourselves at the mo.
She's got cystitis (again) & I've got a black eye lol

Thanks for being so tolerant of us besotted animal lovers! Argey xx

Aw minim, Sidney will have a weakness in that area for his lifetime I think. My response is to change the litter tray as often as possible - scoop daily as often as he poops and full change at least twice a week. I got a bit under the weather and I think I wasn't scooping as frequently as I should have, so he got a bit runny and the cystitis followed, mind you we also had a bit of upheaval with lots of stuff going out to be sold meaning lots of people in and out of the flat - the vet thinks that is more likely the reason. Even after two jabs, a combo of antibiotics and steroids each time, and a five day course of antibiotics he was potty hopping, so I have bought, at great expense, a pack of D-Mannose. Thoroughly recommended, we have never looked back! wish you and your Meg well, hugs and purrs, ms x and Sidney GC

Dare we be personal and ask how you got the black eye? Perhaps you should be wearing the cats sunglasses!

Aww Argey that's lovely, thank you! Xx

As another obsessed cat owner I do often think I bore the t*ts (boobs?!!) off people going on about them...but then they bore me going on about their kids, who are nowhere near as cute or funny, ha ha!!! :p

From mobile, please excuse any silly errors!! :)

Looks like Meg will have this weakness too.
This is the 5th time this year!
Last time the Vet said they'd do tests, but I was indisposed (sporting a shiner) so Himself took her. Vet gave double the dose of everything she'd had before & asked for a urine sample. Himself was even given special litter to put in the tray.

BIG problem.
1. Meg hates the tray. In fact, I only bought the tray when she had her first attack of cystitis & she'll try to use it at night when she has trouble urinating, otherwise - forget it
2. she won't come in at night
3. she's refusing to eat.

In desperation I opened a tin of Tuna in spring water this morning and she's eaten that along with 2 anti-biotics and 2 crystal dissolving capsules.

Progress .... of a sort

Lol

The conversation went like this on Thursday -

"Don't come into the kitchen, I'm painting the skirting."
"Okay" they chorused.

Not long afterwards my kitchen was invaded by a Viking marauder!
You know the sort - why open a door gently when you can barge in as if they very hounds of Hell are running you down!
The doorknob smacked me right in the eye orbit.
Ewww! Not a pretty sight.

I notice he's not limping today .......
