I was so depressed after all of Amber's puppies went off to their new homes that Martha has come to live with us.
She has been here two weeks now and is settling in really well.
Amber wasn't to impressed when she kept trying to feed from her, and Fern was like a jealous toddler who wants to know when that thing you have brought home to live here is going back. But thankfully they are all getting on like a house on fire now.
they Play all the time and are showing her the ropes, like Mum won't be cross with you if you look at her with the "sad face" or if you grab a sock and run Mum can't run after you so it is yours to keep, especially if you take it into the garden and hide it behind a bush.
So we now have draws full of odd socks but she is worth it.
On her first day

Martha is gorgeous and so is the other doggie peering through the window.

What sort of spaniel? is she Madmax?

Our son has split up with his girlfriend and has come back home with his dog. So I'm mum to a dog now as well. He's a mongrel called Bob and is part staffie. He's still a puppy lol.

She is a blue roan and tan, show cocker spaniel and is just adorable.
She has her second injection tomorrow and I can't wait to start taking her out and about.
She is already really good in the car and loves coming out with me.
This afternoon she has been helping me with the gardening !!

Oh wow, what a cutie!!! It must be so lush having a new pet. I tried earlier as the local cats protection keep posting heartbreaking stories on FB. I was shot down in flames straight away :( lol

Enjoy your beautiful doggies :D

From mobile, please excuse any silly errors!! :)

I saw those too, they don't half tug at your heartstrings with the awful statistics, don't they?

Meanwhile, I think Martha's simply adorable! Can I be cheeky :hi: and ask if you might have plans for more litters of puppies after all, MadMax?

Yes you have found me out Martha will be having her first litter once she is older .
The thought of NEVER having an other litter of puppies on top of all of the last litter going off to their new homes sent me into a downward spiral of depression and sadness.
So after an internet search Martha arrived into our lives. Both of her parents have been fully health checked and have great pedigrees so she should have nice healthy puppies.
It was very strange bring a new puppy into the family as it was 12 years since that last happened.

I adore Martha's last photo
Himself has that very same 'what now?' expression

I know that you love your dogs to bits MM and they receive the very best care but I am disappointed to hear that you bought Martha with the sole aim of breeding from her, it's self indulgent imho and after nearly losing Amber I am shocked you want to risk it happening again. I understand that you love puppies and your feelings of loss when they leave you but I find the idea of dogs being breeding machines very distasteful. I'm sorry if this offends but it is the way I feel and I have thought long and hard before posting this.

Hey - whoa!!!

Madmax is one of the good guys, a home breeder who puts her dogs' welfare at the heart of everything she does.

She takes extreme care with her dogs, carefully choosing stud dogs to suit, matching them for breed and temperament, starting the pups out on a long and healthy life, vetting potential owners ... Have you seen her website?

Family pets are part and parcel of our lives, and it's only by supporting devoted home breeders like Madmax that we can put those disgusting puppy farms and animal wholesalers out of business.
