Web prices

I'm interested in an item on Gems TV website which is priced at over £1000 so I rang up CS to see whether it had sold for a cheaper price on TV before, and whether I could buy it cheaper than it was on the website. I was told no, that was the price. I have done this before in the past and got about £100 knocked off the web price. I've also done it very successfully with Rocks & Co. Does anyone know if Gems have stopped doing this and are putting the same prices on the web site as what they sell for on screen?

Last week I liked an item over £2000 and was told via email it was £999 but another item hadn't been aired yet so it was web price only.
Always depends who you get in customer service!

Thank you for that information Greenie and Gemcherub, have bought items from website in the past and never thought to ask for a reduction, will do so in future, if I'm tempted.
