Johnny Kingdom

Well hot on the heels of the marvelous penguins was a JK special in Alaska where he went looking for bears fishing salmon. We were lucky enough to see salmon leaping and some brown bears when we went to Canada so were keen to watch. One brown bear was just the other side of the river from DH ( I was on the banking) and started to swim across towards him so I decided I'd better tell him ( he was watching some sheep through the binoculars) as I didn't fancy his chances , not seen him move so fast for years. She had a cub with her. The pelicans and sea otters were gorgeous and he did get to see bears- JK not DH.

I love these wild life programmes, even though I do n't enjoy them as much as I should as I am always expecting something awful to happen to the young ones!
