It's 23.23 on the 26th March. I don't know the presenter's name but he is bare faced lying about the TV aerial implying you need a special antenna to receive a digital TV signal. An antenna merely collects the radio waves and directs the minute electric current down the coax cable ready for amplification at the set top box or TV, it makes no difference whether the signal is analogue or digital, and it's lying to say that you need a specialised aerial to receive terrestrial digital Freeview TV broadcasts. I know what I'm talking about as I've been watching Freeview DVB for over a decade, have never bought a so called digital aerial just continuing to use either a portable, or the external one if it was pointing at the correct repeater. And as a temporary measure when moving into a new place even used something he's just said won't work... a wire coat hanger wire bent in a circle! (I'm also a City & Guilds qualified Radio Amateur and make my own high gain antennas for fun).

This is quite serious as this particular issue has already been taken to the ASA by Wirral 70-I have pasted his post below;

'There's a section on the site (Sorry FP, I should have provided a link). This was one of mine, it was Guy Kean's ludicrous claim that a rooftop aerial cannot receive digital signals. I was quite happy it was informally resolved as it was clearly down to the presenter's obvious incompetence and ignorance rather than trying to deceive. It hasn't been repeated.'

The complaint was resolved informally, but it seems they are in breach again.
The original thread was 'This week's ASA ruling against Sit Up' dated 6th March 2013.
Looks like this issue will have to go back to the ASA.

I didn't see this broadcast so in all fairness to the presenter I cannot really comment, however as mentioned below I have complained about a previous sale of 'digital' aerials.

You might wish to contact the ASA, it's very easy and only takes a minute or so. If you need any help or want further information about my complaint do feel free to PM me.

Ah, that explains it then. He's probably got a job lot in the back of the van and he and Rodney need to shift 'em

Mike Mason is just a modest, family guy doing an honest days work.

How else do you expect him to buy his Lady/Goddess anything she asks for?

She has the pick of Sit Up's delights. Well, 'similar' far more expensive products anyway. Dongles are not de rigueur in their household.

Mason was selling those massively over-priced Aquaswiss watches last night. One started at 800 quid and fell quickly to £350. They had 10 available and he kept ranting on about how he would love one of them. By the end of the auction he still had 9 left, so perhaps his lady/goddess picked one up for him??? If not, she should have! The phone lines were hardly jammed! :giggle:

He has given that hint to his ladyslashgoddess before, so let's hope she was watching and came up trumps this time. It would look good on their new show, if it happens.
