Anyone bought a Titan peeler from Bid? Thought they were supposed to last forever not. Will go well with our garlick crusher that doesn't crush, the copper bottomed pans that burn everything, the omelette maker that that leaves black bits of "non stick" on everything, the one touch can opener that doesn't,the silent I pod docking station, the size 11 trainers that wouldn't fit a size 9, the uncontrollable steam mop and the blunt Anthony Worrell Thompson knives. Our house is like a Bid graveyard. Moved house in December and didn't give them our new address. Free at last.

We have just moved house too Fred, and like you we have not given them our new phone number or updated credit card details with them. I bought a steam iron from bid, ages ago and burned my hand on the handle, which was full of boiling water when it steamed. My husband took it to trading standards. We learned our lesson and hardly bought anything after that

You've just reminded me of the steam station we bought for 25 quid that had a bit missing off the top. It was like a boiling kettle. The steam nearly took the paper off the ceiling. Another delicious purchase consigned to the Bid graveyard because we couldn't be bothered to send it back. We try not to watch it whilst under the influence or perhaps that's the only way to watch it.

the titan peeler's are fab, had ours about 5 years and still works like new , best peeler by miles we have ever had, paid £3 if i remember correctly

I am convinced the high postage costs to get items delivered or returned are an integral part of their business philosophy. It's all very well the repugnant Mike Mason assuring us we can return goods but half the time it simply dosen't make economic sense.

And they know it.

.....And they know people don't want the hassle of speaking to someone in an Indian call centre either, funny how they don't offer us a simple email service, I'm sure they could if they wanted!
I've still got a trolley jack indoors that I need to return, I ordered a memory card btw! So I can just fill in the returns slip and send it back, but it'll cost me money to do so, but I'll have to speak to somebody in order to reclaim that money, and to make sure that my refund includes the cost of the original postage and packaging. I'm so fed up with them. I'm still waiting for a refund on a throw they conveniently forgot to send me, I filled in a claim form, but they reckon I haven't returned it, so I'm now waiting for another one to be sent.

But do you know what? They could give us a decent little discount channel, but they clearly don't want to. It seems to me all they want to do is make money (like all businesses, of course) but prefer to do it by using as much skullduggery as they can get away with. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have a "scam team" working upon new ways of misleading and hoodwinking viewers.
Just look at them.

Bid up, price drop, pricedropper, speed auction..why ffs? - they're all selling the same crap. If they're going to have separate channels have them for specialist merchandise like crafting, or gardening

I really wish someone braver than me would get TS or Watchdog on the case!

For me they are unique in the Telly Shopping world and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Watchdog or the likes would be interesting to see, maybe it will happen?

You never know.
