He joined the channel in 1996 as a Floor Manager and worked his way up.<br /><br />Last year Mark was a judge for the QVC Presenter Search which saw Craig Rowe seeing off the competition to become a full time presenter. During the competition Mark was asked what he looked for in a QVC presenter, he said "Somebody who is hard working, focused and passionate about our products. Above all, I am looking for somebody with warmth, sincerity and credibility the same qualities you look for in a friend."<br /><br />Mark's career is set to take a totally new direction, he is heading to Bournmouth to run a Bed and Breakfast.<!--StartSdNewsForum--><br /><br />

'Head of Presenters'? I thought that was Julia Roberts!

B&B in Bournemouth, mmmm, how quaint. I'm picturing NN's chintzy bed linen and framed Judy Garland posters.:p
 
Always seemed like a nice guy when he was doing search for a new presenter. Perhaps now though if new blood comes in there maybe a few shake ups and some of the "divas" (well just one!) wont get their own way and maybe have to present craft and in the kitchen and cleaning hours instead of just fashion, jewellery, and beauty!
 
apart from the NN bedding think of all the other products he can take with him - oreck vacuum, L'occitane soaps, cooks essential cook ware etc, etc.

And don't forget the Thomas kinkade pictures alongside Judy garland!

The kathy Tayler room chaotic but homely.

:mad:Was mark West the one responsible for for all these female presenters on QVC and who was the one responsible for changing QVC from a shopping channel to a womans channel.

I know that this is a very very old post, but as I am bored thought I would read through the older posts and see the changes from then to now. What struck me with regards to this article was
a) If this guy is running a B&B why has he not been on 4 in a Bed (that is presuming he is still running it, I can't be bothered to do a check (I am not that sad (honest)), and
B) wonder if DF has got any hints and tips, from him as I have heard a whisper (re very loud whisper through a megaphone), that she has her own B&B.

Also as an after-thought, wonder if they will ever do another 'search for a presenter'!
 
Well they may do a presenter search who knows not sure if Craig was the best ,i cant remember the others. Q seem to be awash with competitions at the moment .

QVC suddenly realising that arrogantly neglecting and taking for granted their loyal customer base is a recipe for disaster! Yet they still can't bear to give a genuine gesture as that would mean parting with actual money, maybe even actualvQVC money.... More new presenters isn't the answer in itself.

I quite like the guy who has been representing various jewellery brands recently .He did the turquoise show with Julia.I never get names but he looked familiar like an actor . He knew his stuff .Julia was more about how wonderful it looked on her with her tan.
 
I would love to try my hand at being a QVC presenter. I don't think my appearance would be their cup of tea, though. Shame really as I've probably got just the right voice for it. I would absolutely LOVE to see what goes on behind the scenes and get all the gossip! I bet it would be a right hoot! Apparently they share dressing rooms, so two egos per room! I'd love to see their contracts and see what interesting clauses and conditions they contain. I'd love to know what level of pressure they are under and what sort of targets they work to.
