Rose de France ring

Bought a tennis bracelet a couple of months ago from Gems, lovely, beautiful saturation of colour with terrific brilliance, thought WOW must must have, need need the ring to match.

What a disappointment bought 2 from Gems washed out colour, little brilliance, tried TJC same result.

Is it because they are a bigger carat weight and the colour doesn't saturate as well or are they just inferior stones?

I buy them in silver because the flimsy gold weights are totally off putting.

Has anyone any suggestions or should I just give up as the p&p starts to mount up?

I bought a Rose de France ring too a while back and was similarly disappointed by the lacklustre colour; it does seem to be a hit and miss affair!
