QVC price of £196.55 includes p&p and 8g memory card and case as extras.

Do your sums.
A £5 memory card and a £20 case doesn't add up to the £55.55 extra QVC are charging.

I so want a new camera but am totally confused as to what to buy as there are just so many different ones out there and I am a total camera novice.
So if anyone has a great camera they would recommend then please please let me know.

It depends very much on what you want, max. Do you want a light compact take-anywhere camera, a bridge camera that does more but is a bit bulkier and heavier, or a DSLR camera that does the lot with excellent quality? If the latter, you'll have to pay as much again for different lenses which you don't have to on a bridge camera because they're built into the machine. All of the above do fully automatic mode where you just point and shoot. I belong to a photography club so if you let me know what sort you're after, I'll try to help.
