Although Gems have gone downhill, I still keep an eye on their website. I recently just placed my first order in quite a while, and have just recevied some lovely pieces.

This one is a stunner - the photo doesn't do it justice and the colours and sparkle in the sphene are just outstanding. (By the way the sphene ring is still available in the web games for a forward bid of £58.)

I've had my eye on this ever since it appeared in the overpriced shop, but got it from the personal shopper for a much more reasonable sum. The kunzite is a beautiful deep pink (very like patroke) and the diamonds are nice. It's a reasonable size, too.

The morganite in these earrings is a real surprise - I wasn't expecting much colour (especially since the stones are small), but in fact the colour is a shade deeper than the photo:

Finally this - just bought because it's pretty:

All in all, I think Gems ae still worth a look - but you have to be selective!

And if anyone's got some leeway on a cc do buy this Zultanite ring, I have it and it's totally stunning and a brilliant price imho. Ooh and this ring too :pPC:

Ooh, they are all gorge!

I still lurk on the web site too. Sometimes they bring up some of the older stock which is still really lovely, as your purchases demonstrate.

Some lovely pieces there Miss M and the zultanite look very classy. I had a delivery a few months ago and actually had a couple of corkers in it and I do look from time to time but I don't see much I like very often.

I can't believe they still have the shop in this current economic climate. They would sell far more if the prices were in accord with the TV and web games.

If anyone wants the gorgeous kunzite pendant, I ordered the last two (in order to choose the better gem) and have just sent one back - there really wasn't much in it. I paid £154 through personal shopper.

I guess if I dropped in at the right time I would also see some lovely pieces like yours, MissMagpie...love the sphiene and kunzite, and yours alupha...the morganite is gorgeous! It seems, though, when I drop in for a look I'm unfortunate to see some real turn offs like some of their rather strange silver pieces...for example....

...and the prices are never really tempting enough, but since looking at your hauls, maybe I should keep looking!

Many thanks Miss M for starting a nice thread and to everyone showing their very pretty pieces.
It's what this forum used to be all about and I have to admit I've become rather fed up of seeing negative
after negative post (and thread) on here. Its become almost non PC to post any nice new purchases! :33:

Anyway I too have had some nice stuff from Gems and they include the following...all from live auctions:-

Ruby watch with lovely red rubies (over half a carat) for well below £30.

Tanzanite pendant, for DD's birthday, lovely diamonds and very blue tanzanite for a very good price.

Kunzite pendant for only £33 and over 2 carats, has a nice colour central stone.

Patroke Kunzite ring, saw it on air a few times and then snatched in a clearance sale.......lovely colour stone, a subtle rather than bold lilac / pink and the surrounding diamonds are stunning. Sensible price too with a free upgrade ring box.

And finally this Zambian emerald ring, the link doesn't convey the brightness of the emerald (which looks larger than the specs suggest) nor the whiteness and brilliance of the diamonds, some baguette shaped and VS quality according to the presenter. And it didn't cost a packet in the sales.

Am one happy bunny with all the above.

Lovely pieces there MissMagpie. I do have a look occasionally, but haven't had the same luck you've had, although I did get this Mintabie Jelly Opal pendant (UFP5512 - sorry, can't do links) before Christmas for about £80 and it's by far the best opal I have. Full of all colours, especially red and looks as if it's on fire in sunlight. I feel they might have made a mistake on the price, but am really chuffed with it.

Jacqualina here is the link for you

that pendant is fab for that price

Thanks SCW. I've tried to take some photos, but it's really difficult to catch the colour and the fire. These are my best effort, but they really don't do the stone justice.

It's great to see all your purchases! I really didn't think us serious blingers would have stopped buying from Gems, even if we haven't seen anything on the forum lately! :lolwave: I agree with BC though that if they reduced their shop prices in line with the web and TV prices, they'd get a lot more sales.

Oh boy! Where to start? I love the Kunzite pendant Miss M and also the Morganite earrings. It's a real bonus to find some with colour these days!

What a stonker of a Morganite ring Alupha - wow!

PPC - a lady of impeccable taste. Those Zultanites are the bees' knees. I really love the design of the first one.

Sacha - your Emerald ring is beautiful and I love your Kunzites. What a fantastic price on your Kunzite pendant!

Jacqualina - I think your photos show the colours and the fire brilliantly. You must be over the moon with it - it's lovely.

So long as we're confessing our sins, I had these delivered yesterday.

I've had my Patroke ring for a year and it hasn't faded at all. These earrings are a perfect colour match and with a bit of luck won't fade either (fingers crossed).

Thx the morganite is a stonker, and the zultanite is in fact no smaller than that! and...ah-ha!!! it was u putting the pre-bid on the earrings!!! very gd taste ;)

oooooh! Lovely pieces everyone. I haven't visited the forum for ages, so it's brilliant to come back and see that there are still some gorgeous things finding their way to our jewellery boxes.

I succumbed to this one in the new year when I saw it on the TV (and I hadn't watched for ages either, so it was fate!) - it's a lovely stone, and no window!!!! Yey!!!
