Oh dear - Stacey really needs to think before opening her mouth.

Apparently Rocks & Co are "the largest owners of purple sapphires in the world" and "we get the first pick". :33:

I doubt this VERY much as there are companies that specialise in only buying sapphires.

And now ................

"normally Rubellite is scratched and dull"

Really?

Really?

Maybe she means prior to cutting and faceting? :52: All the same she does spout a lot of rubbish and her voice is more suited to Childrens TV.:19:

Apart from Vicky Burton, "Ooh look I have hands..." and the other ex-Gems girls, I don't know their names. :9: I used to like the Irish girl but haven't seen her for ages.

Couldn't agree more, although she wouldn't get past the maths test! Something has just dropped from £1000 to £679 and she said "that's dropped to nearly half price"!

I'm going to stop watching now cos I can feel my blood pressure exploding!

PLEASE ROCKS & CO - GET SOME DECENT PRESENTERS - CLONES OF JOHN WOULD BE GOOD.

I heard Kay Little say the same thing about purple sapphires and thought she was just new and maybe she had it wrong but after reading this my faith goes down again am tempted to buy but disillusioned still so will be holding on to hard earned cash a bit longer.

I think it was Stacey said again later "to make things clear", that they are as quoted above! She also said Gav would be over at the weekend, so get your questions ready Gals.

This came from the horse's mouth at the weekend. Tony Diniz said that he gets the pick of the best of the purple sapphires and what he doesn't want is left for everyone else!

I don't think they're listening. Just look at the last two presenters they've just hired!

I heard John say the very same thing last night, so I don't think it was Stacey just making it up, looks like they've been told to say it. It would be interesting to hear Gav's take on the matter.
As for the presenters, I have no idea who hires them, but I think they need to take a very hard look at what they are doing!

Hi, I'm new to the forum however have been a long time viewer of these type of channels. I originally viewed Gems tv religiously but switched to Rocks & Co. to see what they had to offer. Now I'm going straight back to Gems as these presenters really do talk s**t. The other day there was this blond haired girl on - not Vicki Burton - but another girl, sorry don't know her name, and she was talking about a gemstone that apparantly has a value of $50,000 per carrat. She then went on to say that she wasn't implying worth or value BUT SHE WAS!!!!!!! This isn't the only time the presenters have got their facts wrong this same girl also said that it was a tanzinite used in the film titanic IT WASNT!!!! I won't reveal how I know this but let's just say that I definatly know for sure!!!! I wasn't going to say anything about this but as there was already a post about the same sort of thing I thought I'd jump on the band wagon. I think rocks need to be very careful as the presenters are continually talking about worth and value as well as giving incorrect information and it won't be long before the ASA jump on them!

Oohhhh....go on, tell us!!!!!!!!! Warm welcome to the forum, bye the way. Love to know about your gem buying, too! Aren't I nosey?

I believe that a Tanzanite replica was made of the Heart of the Ocean (the gemstone featured in the movie) and I think was worn by Kate Winslet to the premiere or something. Not 100% sure but I do know that Tanzanite was featured somewhere!

As for the purple sapphire debacle - I'm sorry but as far as I'm aware, purple sapphires are not just mined in one place. If the "we have first dibs" debate is correct that would mean that Rocks&Co have first call on all the sapphires at all the mines where it's found. I find that incredibly hard to believe and if that's the case, how come they haven't got any unheated material like The Natural Sapphire Company or Simply Sapphires?????? They may have first dibs at certain mines or from certain sources but to say they have the largest and best supply in the world is misleading IMVHO.

:Happy1: I am so glad it's not just me who is finding this channel increasingly unwatchable. I was beginning to think I was turning into the female equivalent of Victor Meldrew!!

With regards to the Heart of the Ocean, it was Celine Dion who wore it at the Academy Awards when she sang the theme song "My Heart will go on". Jewellers Aspray & Garrard made and exact replica of the pendant worn by Kate Winslett in the film but instead of a Blue Diamond they used a 170 carat Sri Lankan Sapphire surrounded by Diamonds totalling another 30 carats! This replica was later purchased for Celine at a Charity Auction in aid of the Princess Diana Memorial Fund, by her husband Rene Angelil as a surprise. He paid a cool $2.2 million for it £1.4m in our currency! Oh how the other half live!!

Hiya Victor!

£1.4m? I'll have 3 then!

Well remembered - where on earth did I get Kate Winslett wearing it to the Oscars or something then? Think I'm going senile!

But you are quite happy to praise the hype given by GemsTV?

Graham - how interesting that you have come back to this thread, as did I just a few minutes ago. Some of the tanzinite debate was becoming vaguely familiar.

And defending GemsTV presenters and GemsTV?

All posts are in the same vein!

Well done both for spotting this.
