Hello!

What age do people think today's TSV range is for? In the past, I've bought Decleor TSVs and then a beauty therapist has said I'm buying something thats for when your skin is more mature (the Experience de L'Age). Because they're trying to flog the world and it's granny, I don't think QVC are always honest about who things are best for so what would others say for the Gatineau one today? I'm 37.

Many thanks

Age is important when you decide what skinproduct to use, but the most important is how your skin looks and feels. There are 20yr olds with a dull and wrinkly skin and some women in their late fifties have a skin like a thirty year old. It is all in the genes

I am the same age as you, and my skin is in good condition and am currrently using Elemis PCMC and the new gatineau active eclat moisturizer. I would use the defilift or "stronger" anti wrinkle creams more as a treatment or mask, when my skin looks tired or when I am stressed. Pop it one one or 2 nights a week as a power shot for my skin.

Thank you, I hadn't really thought of using them that way. My skin is usually really good, but the Decleor Aromessence Excellence has caused me loads of problems the past few weeks - complete breakout and it's really difficult to get rid of. I have cupboards full of Gatineau, Philosophy, Decleor, Elemis - it's very sad really. And I just think I keep buying these things when half the time, it's probably not what my skin needs! I should steer clear of both QVC and all beauty counters/magazines/general society I think, until I've learnt to say no......

The throat gel was one of the products that put me off this tsv. I have had the small one turn up in a few of the tsv's and I know it's apparently very popular but it did nothing for me. Thankfully think my neck just doesn't need it yet so pointless.

The other items I would enjoy using but not see any particular results. The exception is the gommage and I am fascinated by the lip stuff.

Therefore yes I think an older skin would benefit and see more wow from this kit.

I get the impression its for women of around my age - 49 and 3/4. Alison did say not to buy if you have spotty skin. I have heard them say if your concerns are aging - and that concern can begin in your 30's or 40's, then this range is for you! I suppose some of us wear better than others (fraid I'm one of the 'others') so its hard to put an exact age on a range.

The therapist assisting mentioned that one of the products (think it was a mask) could be used by someone in their 20's so I suppose it depends on what exactly the treatment is.

The therapist would have had chance to look at your skin properly so it should be good advice unless of course she was just trying to sell their own range.

I only ever pass on Liz Earle to my sons girlfriend as I think all the other ranges I have would be too much for her 20 something skin.

Bet

Save your money, nothing is anti aging you cannot stop wrinkles etc. with a tube of cream no matter what it cost. Alison Young will tell you anything to sell a product.

You are not wrong Bettyboo, I always have a good laugh at AY because whatever brand she is promoting at any given time .. it is the best you can buy. I have in the past tried most brands and I can honestly say they did diddly squat for me.:54:

I would go with how your skin looks and feels.I don't agree with age ranges for skincare because you can still have oily, spotty skin, or skin that doesn't wrinkle much even when your a lot older.Iv found most anti-aging creams made my skin worse i try to use a good cleanser and toner but only moisturise with olay or astral. For me i think think all anti-aging are waste of money you just need a regular routine.

Luckily I have good skin for my age and in spite of smoking and in my younger years being in the sun a lot I've got away with it. I have always moisturised since my teens, chopping and changing brands constantly. The one thing I have consistently done is exfoliated with an apricot scrub every 2 days. I'm sure thats why I'm relatively wrinkle free. That's my top tip! I would however love to find a moisturiser that isn't greasy , heavy and makes me shiny!

In her defence I have to say that I have fully appreciated some of the items she has introduced to me.

Thing makes me laugh is when she comes on air and says she has been using the new on air product recently. How does she find the time to see these results when she is also telling us about the longer term use needed for results and needs to fit in her favourites too :D

She must spend hours in the bathroom each morning and night if she uses all she says she does.

I'm 26 and I have what I think are dehydration lines. I love using Nivea Q10 plus at night, when I wake up my skin is plump and smooth, although I find too much use gives me spots. I find it hard to find a happy medium. I also use LE Cleanse and Polish but this makes my skin red and sensitive after a while.

Due to illness, chronic insomnia, and harsh medication, my skin is currently in a very stressed and delicate state, and I have found that it functions better right now if I leave it alone. I've always used good skincare and it has been my one indulgence but everything irritates it at the moment, and the last lot of stuff I used, Elemis, caused huge and painful spots to emerge. Funnily enough, since I've pared my routine down to absolutely nowt, people are telling me that my skin is looking better than it has for months.

I wonder if you're right about that, definitely. I try all these things and I'm sure that sometimes it's just all too much! I think going on everyone's comments (and thank you for them!), I shall keep my money for the moment. I'm sorry to hear you've not been well though, that's not good - I hope you feel better soon.

I also agree that AY tends to say that the particular product she is selling that day is the best and what she uses - maybe she uses a different one each day!

I love the gatineau range and it suits my skin I have been using it for about 10 years and think for my age (48) my skin is not too bad. I also use the LE Cleanse and Polish. I have tried the other ranges off qvc and the high street but can really see a differnence with the gatineau so always go back to it. I also like the texture of most of the creams. The defi-lift mask, throat gel, defi-lift eye cream and the new active gommage are my favourite products but I will use any. Can't wait to try the new lip stuff.

I like the fact that you can get stuff and give it a try for 30 days and send it back if you don't like it or it doesn't suit you.

When I first started to watch QVC I was quite gullible and took Alison Young to be the expert she's always telling us she is!
As a High Street skin product user,I thought I must have been missing out all these years.
So I treated myself to Elemis PCMC a few other products and prepared to be wowed!
Guess what....no difference ha ha!
Liz Earle was my next experiment..Cleanse and Polish turned me in to a spotty teen again...binned it!
Gatineau is what will do it I thought...no difference except to my bank balance!
Philosophy was ok but nothing special.
Decleor, average... but above average price
Then it dawned on me, Alison Young is just a specialist beauty saleswoman and she will endorse anything to sell.
How can all of these products possibly be as fantastic as the last and better than the next!
She is good at what she does and baffles us with "beauty science" and I am sure the QVC shareholders love her....but I don't ,and I am not taken in anymore,so this 49 year old with pretty good skin has returned to her High Street roots a little wiser!!

Interesting take and not incorrect LemonSqueezy but I have actually benefitted from some of the ranges.

For years when younger I bought high street cleansers and moisturisers from all price ranges. Despite applying copious amounts of moisturiser my skin was always feeling dry to the point that I would feel the need to apply more part way through the day. I used to get through pots very fast so was it really cheaper - probably not?

For many years now of qvc purchases I have simply not considered that I have dry skin any longer. I always definitely only use a tiny amount of the moisturisers compared to my previous rate. Most of my purchases are made via tsv's and collections so I am happy with the price paid.

Having tried a number of the cleansers I have stuck with Gatineau Serenite for many years now and my skin loves it.

Mmmm I'm in the 'I think it works' camp in this debate. When I was 17 I worked for Lancome & was able to get their skincare & make up with staff discount, so started using premium skincare at a very early age. I've always used what's considered 'high end' products (and that's not to say that there aren't some very good high street brands around) & I do think my skin has benefitted over the years & now, at 43 I'm reaping the benefits of staying out of the sun, or using proper protection when in it, using an eye cream since age 22, & always having a skin care routine which is key. It doesn't matter how high end your products are, if you don't follow a routine yourself then they're not going to be able to work effectively no matter how cheap or expensive they are.

I always use Liz Earle C&P, & take my eye make-up off with either Gatineau Floracil or L'Oreal eye make up remover (At £2.68 a bottle it does just as well as Floracil I think!) a serum (either Prescriptives Superline Preventor or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair), an oil (Decleor always alternating between Neroli & Iris), and then a day/night moisturiser (either Decleor L'Experience de L'age, Elemis PCMC, or Gatineau Melatogenine (I'm not struck on Defilift)

But everyone's different, so I think you should buy and use what you like & find out what suits your skin & stick with it whether high street or high end!

Not sunbathing and using a very high factor sunscreen are the only things which can really be considered anti-ageing. All else is just moisturisation of the skin and that's purely superficial, it can't stop wrinkling. The only thing that can take away a wrinkle is botox or some other filler. I get irritated at all the ranges which claim to have a 'botox like' effect, it just isn't possible. Even botox just placed on the skin would not have an effect, it has to be injected. I think the advertising of skincare should be better regulated, as it is, they talk a load of carp.

Yes.Wasn't one of the big cosmetic companies made to withdraw a cream advert? Also, look at all the mascara adverts where they were lash 'inserts', hair adverts where they have extensions etc etc...

I got the gommage in a previous kit but never used it because it looked so messy. However, yesterday I ventured into gommage world and the result was amazing. I admit I felt a bit like a snake shedding it's skin at the time but the after effects were wonderful so it was worth the mess - no pain, no gain! The other product I find has a great effect on my skin is the Elemis Tri-Enzyme Facewash. After rubbing it into my face I use any excess on my hands and they look so much better afterwards too.
