    Important Induction Hob Update

I notice they are selling induction hobs again on IW and I wrote a favourable review about their previous model that I've had in daily use for over 4 years and my general tips for using one. I haven't changed my mind and still like the way they efficiently only heat the cooking vessel, BUT...

Security stamp things...I bought some, and guess what?

I'm sorry folk have been ripped off by a product that doesn't work effectively as I've seen this product in the past. But whilst I thought it's a good idea to black out sensitive ID info instead of messing about with a shredder, I adapted the idea and now keep a broad black marker pen on by my...

    Presenter lying about TV antennas

It's 23.23 on the 26th March. I don't know the presenter's name but he is bare faced lying about the TV aerial implying you need a special antenna to receive a digital TV signal. An antenna merely collects the radio waves and directs the minute electric current down the coax cable ready for...

Whilst it might work for mites...

... a UV vacuum cleaner is about as much as a chocolate fireguard for bedbugs as the they breed that fast and can survive ages without feeding and are expert at hiding away well out of sight and out of vacuum reach in the thinnest of cracks, under skirting, carpet and floorboards etc. If you get...

    Wha'appened?

The Deal Channel disappeared from freeview a few weeks ago. I know as unless there's a product I'm particularly interested in, I only flick through the shopping channels in preference to advert breaks, and it was probably just a Christmas/New Year thing. It's now a JML repeat channel of 'The...

    Cooks Essentials TSV 29/01/13

I was tempted by this model with it's push button and forget idea, BUT a fridge magnet countdown timer can alert me to any cooking method, it's 1.5l capacity is a bit limiting if you're cooking for more than two or want to make up large batches for freezing and, being a bit of a miser, I...

    Induction Hobs

Cheers for the thanks and likes. I forgot to mention that as they have a glass or ceramic top surface, IHs are very easy to keep clean, another pro if you're used to electric ring element hobs or having to dismantle gas burners to get them clean after a spillage.

    Halogen Oven Prices

I've been considering a 7l halogen as a replacement for my standard Remoska and have done a fair bit of browsing looking for the best model and price, and whilst they don't have hinged lids like the IW ones, those from Andrew James are cheaper, and more importantly, you can get replacement...

    Induction Hobs

I thought it worth replying to this thread as I've had the experience of using a 'Team' induction hob bought from IW for the last five years, and although now superseded by an 'EasiCook' model, my advice may be a useful general guide for those unfamiliar, but considering buying an induction hob...

    Energitech radiators

Thanks Nikki, I've just posted a similar thread about De Longhi heaters being sold on Ideal World. My flat is all electric heating and to satisfy myself that what I'd learnt in theory in school physics was true, I did tests heating my lounge using firstly a 1kW fan heater, then a 800W halogen...

Misleading claims about De Longhi Oil filled Heaters

The presenter claimed that these heaters are cheaper to run than a fan heater because they are thermostatically controlled and because the oil takes longer to lose it's heat before the thermostat kicks in and that it wouldn't switch on as much, what he didn't mention is that it's also a lot...

    Energitech radiators

They will cost the same as any other type of thermostatically controlled electric heater irrespective of power rating as once they heat a room to the desired temperature, they switch off and on to maintain it. A higher wattage heater will heat a room faster than a lower wattage one, but the same...
