I don't know if anyone else is familiar with these but they're beautiful and even though Morrisons is on the other side of town to me I'll happily take a trip to avail myself of a packet. They're baked in store and you get a pack of four deliciously yeasty tasting rolls topped with a really good smattering of salt and pepper. Last time OH was going that way I asked him to pick up a packet and when he got them home I thought they looked different, they looked larger, paler and the topping was really sparse. I made my work sandwich with one and sure enough they tasted quite different, but not in a good way, they were dry and tasteless. A couple of weeks later he was going that way again so I asked him to take a look and if they looked funny again, don't buy them. He came back without them and said that they looked bad again, so that's that!!!! So disappointing when your favourite things change!

There's something about Morrisons that feels a bit low-rent, a bit like the old Gateway, Somerfield or Safeway's stores. The shelves are often untidy or not fully stocked, things lying around and the fridges, chill counters and fresh areas look a bit tired. We don't have a local one but when I've been into a couple in other places. Maybe it was just those ones, but even the trolly system and queues at the till area seemed old fashioned.
And I wasn't particularly impressed with their prices, many things seemed a little more than elsewhere compared to the other cheaper ones of the large supermarket chains.

But thanks for the tip, if I see a roll will try one.
