    The 'popular' necklaces.....

lol I know this is a long time after your post but I was having a browse. If you mean the emerald/ sapphire/ ruby/ multigem etc facetted bead necklaces with 14k gold fastener, them I have the multigem, sapphire and emerald versions. I love them - so pretty and delicate, versatile too. Not at...

    Zozzerzite - lol!

It's the varied (and variable) pronunciation of Padparadscha that gets me! There have been times when I wouldn't have known what gem was being sold without the graphics (and not just on GemsTV to be fair).

    Christmas card with 10% discount

Anyone else got a Christmas card from GemsTV? Expiry date 21st December. :mysmilie_687: I did! It arrived today, 31st December! :mysmilie_73: Unless I'm being unfair and Gems is thinking ahead and the expiry date is 21st December 2010? :mysmilie_1057:

Rod Jinks and Matt MacNamara join Rocks TV

Now that IS good news, I always liked both of them. I must admit I haven't been on Rocks lately - too busy, too poor lol - but these two will definitely entice me back into Chat!

    Blue Citrine??

lol if your citrine WAS a topaz, you got a bargain as topaz is, in general, more valuable than citrine - in the past a lot of 'topaz' turned out to be the cheaper citrine. sounds like your jeweller was talking out of the wrong orifice!

how strange! the same three rings, at three different prices

I noticed that, and it's similar for a number of different items. I can only think that it is something to do with the system: maybe it won't allow more than one identical posting, so if they have more than one identical item to sell, they have to vary the price?

    Personal Shopper Prices?????

The only thing I ever bought through a personal shopper on Gems was a gorgeous 1 carat+ ceylon padparadscha sapphire a couple of years ago. I saw it on the TV and it went for £199 - out of my league then. As I drooled over it, my mother who was also watching, said, "If you like it, I'll buy it...

Rocks TV 1st Birthday Party! Anyone Going?

Thanks Miss Magpie - we went last year and loved it so much we are going straight back! Yes it IS espensive - but we live close to the centre of London, so we are used to big city prices. Neither Tokyo or Stockholm strike us as particularly expensive although they are two of the world's most...

    Price variability

In the good old days (of the 2 Steves) they had exactly that system - except it was for about a month after purchase - I know I bought a ring with a big Swiss blue topaz and I think I had 3 refunds as I happened to be watching when the price went lower than I had paid. That was in the days when...

Rocks TV 1st Birthday Party! Anyone Going?

I really, really wish I could but we are flying to Tokyo on 23rd July on holiday - unfortunately Tokyo to Redditch is too far to come for the day. I do hope that there will be another open day in the near (or at least not-too-distant) future that I will be able to attend. Can I please put a...

Tony Diniz - Lack of Credibility

Thank you Meeshoo - it's nice to have someone with knowledge confirm what I have always felt, but with too little knowledge to know if I was right or misguided. Looking at pale, washed-out emeralds (however clear) always made me wonder where aquamarines stopped and emeralds began. I have to...

    Lorique at Rocks.tv

Thanks Mathilda - if I'm not wrong you bought a lovely big square or rectangular emerald from rocks - I loved that too. lol I'm looking forward to 40 years of happy marriage - and hope Steve will have some ruby Lorique rings then!

    Lorique at Rocks.tv

Dingbat - you have said EXACTLY what I thought - although all the Lorique rings are stunning, manyof them were too fancy for my taste. I much prefer the ones that were more simply set and felt that the baguette cut diamonds gave really clean lines - they are btw really sparkly and full of fire...
