In fairness to all of the jewellery companies, I wonder if they are having to cut back to maintain competitive prices in the face of massive gold and silver price increases? Hence the reduction in quality which seems to be affecting all of them.

This is not my impression but would you really expect any company in a highly competitive market to claim to be the same as or worse than their competitors?! In my opinion their key selling points are their range of products, price and customer service. Of course, that's just my opinion.
