I was watching the end of the 10am hour and a Tcaller rang in about Stone Mountain bags and mentioned buying one from TKMaxx not once but twice , i was surprised they did not cut her off.

Yes, I heard it. Thought it was funny - everyone knows they are cheaper thsn QVC so expect a massive down turn in sales for QVC now !! I was really surprised they didn't cut her off :D

I sometimes fleetingly fantasize about phoning in as a bona fide thrilled customer, getting on air, then letting rip! Once I phoned in and spoke to Debbie Greenwood on a gold show when I was drunk, but they hastily wound up the call. I was mortified!!! later - my other half had been out with a mate down the pub and when he got back I told him and he didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!

Have seen a few calls cut short, not because of someone slagging off a product though. It has been because people have phoned about treating themselves because their daughter had just been killed in an accident or their husband has just died or similar. Can't remember who the presenters were but they were lost for words so the gallery pretended they had hung up. I really do not understand why people have to tell complete strangers about such incidents.
There was another one, this time with the lovely Dale. The caller was very abusive and Dale was very red faced - felt so sorry for him.

I remember one years ago with Rob Locke. A guy phoned in to say he was unhappy with QVC CS - he'd had a jewellery item that broke and couldn't get anyone to respond or do anything to help, allegedly. It was during the midnight TSV hour too, so I imagine the gallery put it on thinking it was going to be a gushing endorsement that would set the phones alight! :D

And I can vaguely remember Jill Franks having one (not too long ago) from someone who went into a very very long history of illness and bereavement with little or no mention of the product, and it really was quite uncomfortable at times. She (Jill) seemed pretty much lost for words. It must be awful to be so lonely as to need to share that sort of info on TV, and equally awful to have to respond to a complete stranger with those sort of problems when you are meant to be a salesperson, not a pyschiatrist. Its incidents like that that make me think they should just stop T-calls altogether.

In the early days of QVC I had a bunch of friends around and we were drinking rather heavily, chatting and watching QVC for the amusement value. The item being demonstrated was No Wet Wonder Foam.

A few minutes later one of my friends announced that he was going to phone in and ask if it would remove a certain unpleasant male generated stain from carpets.

A little later I notice he is on the phone. Not only had he dialled QVC but he was waiting to go on-air to ask his question.

Three of us wrestled him to the floor and got the phone off of him just in time. Jamie from Basingstoke never got his 1 minute of fame.

Part of me regrets stopping him to this day!
