John Barrowman on air tomorrow (Friday 26 Feb) at 2pm as a guest on QVC – he will be on air for approx 20 minutes between 2pm and 3pm.

John is probably best known for his roles in Doctor Who and its subsequent spin-off, Torchwood. He has also competed on ITV’s Dancing on Ice and will appear in Desperate Housewives this Spring. He will be chatting to QVC presenter Jill Franks about his new album but at the same time fulfilling a lifelong ambition – appearing on QVC! Seems he has some sort of obsession with the channel – indeed see evidence below from his recent interview with Broadway World…

And is your QVC addiction still going on?
Yes, it is! I don't know if it's so much a QVC addiction so much as I just love certain products on QVC. I'll rattle them off to you. I love Northern Nights bedding. LOVE that. I absolutely love Cooks' Essentials for the kitchen. I think that's absolutely brilliant. And also Joan Rivers jewellery, because I buy it for my mother. She thinks it's incredible. Also Butler and Wilson - listen, if you want really good jewellery and watches, do the Butler and Wilson on QVC. I've called in to QVC and been on the air, when they've been doing shows on products that I like. It's hysterical you say that. Actually, I'll show you this RIGHT NOW and you will LAUGH. [He gets up and begins trawling through his rehearsal bag and eventually produces a wallet, which he opens, and then brandishes a small plastic card.] Tell them what it is.

A purple QVC membership card, Mr J Barrowman!
Yep! Thank you very much! [laughs]

What else do you watch on TV apart from QVC?
I don't get to watch television as much I'd like. I watch it on iTunes or iPlayer after they've gone out. I love Desperate Housewives, I love Weeds, I love Dexter, I love movies - the one I watched most recently on the plane for the third time is Enchanted…

I heart John. Such a character. Was great with Lorraine Kelly on GMTV today. He went very Scottish when he was chatting with her...:)

It'll be interesting to see the price point on this given you can get the limited edition box version for £8.99 easily on the internet [including P&P].

I would have watched as I like him - saw him on The One Show this week and found him charming - but I can't bear the thought of watching him with JF. She'll be gushing all over the place. x

I think it's nice he's appearing, I know he has a reputation for appearing on anything but you have to admire him for loving QVC and letting everyone know. Rather like Ian McKellan when he appeared on Coronation Street purely because he's a massive fan.

I don't usually watch the type of programmes that John Barrowman appears in, but I think he's on TV so much simply because he genuinely loves it and he can't help himself. He's got loads of energy and a very positive attitude but not a lot of talent, but that's OK.

What makes me have a soft spot for him is that he's so fond of animals and raises money for Battersea etc. Whether he's my cup of tea or not, I reckon he's a genuine guy.

According to Paul Coia's wife (had a senior moment, can't remember her name) we can look forward to "John Barrymore" at 2 o'clock.

That means it won't be JF, ooh goody :mysmilie_701:

I think he's a hoot, and even if he is gay as a daffodil, he's still very easy on the eye. I love that jeans/white shirt combo. I think Jill has been fine with him, not too gushy at all, but I'm not a JF-hater.

Loved that he did his Scottish accent too, that's always a surprise when you hear it!

More John Barrowman on QVC, please! I might not buy his music, but I like watching him on the telly! :D

I normally can't stand John Barrowman tbh, but I'd forgotten he was going to be on, and I reckon he'd make a cracking presenter...he's been really entertaining and funny. Glad I didn't miss the show!

This is like qvc used to be in the old Paul Lavers days....dangerous, don't know what will happen next fun!!

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching a QVC show. It's been fun I :mysmilie_1209: John Barrowman
