I see this afternoon they've brough in a new "normal" presenter (from IW in the US) to front this stuff. Whatever were IW thinking, this person is not a good advert for a skincare range.

Finally saw what the fuss was about this afternoon and couldn't see any problem. She was WAY more warm and friendly than a lot of the guests I've seen. And before people get their knicks in a twist about her selling skin care, if she was pretending her looks were a result of her skin cream then that would be foolish but she isn't so get over it.

I think this thread shows more about the people posting than the lady herself given that Pamplmoooose and the other hairstylist [I don't know their names] didn't get this vitriol.

.

But when people present items like that, you would think they use them.

i.e.

Bamix man - Uses bamix
Poulti Woman - Uses Poulti
Sue (iron woman) - uses the irons
Simon Iles - Uses Showroom shine
All the fitness people use their items.

Even if they just say they do, and they DON'T, the viewers think they do. They would think the same for this woman.

I can't take her seriously, and I'm sure others think the same.

If she is on the screen saying ''this is brilliant and it works....'' Would you trust her, or would you think ''she says it works, but look at her..I don't want to look like that...''

10PM show now, she isn't on. :)

Interesting. Linda Lusardi & Ricarda M sell the same type of product but because one has had plastic surgery she is deemed not suitable to sell skin cream even though she does have lots of skin herself. You do know that plastic surgery doesn't mean she is totally made of plastic?

If you can't take her seriously then maybe you should question everyone on shopping TV. I don't think any of the presenters use the products they push. The only one I would trust would be Anthony 'Oh I Miss Him' Heywood when he did camera's and I know he was a professional photographer.

But you don't have no real reason not to believe that they don't use the products...but when she comes o with about 100 face lifts and saying ''this is fantastic....'' if it was that good, why didn't she just settle for that? - It would make people think it isn't very good if they don't use it.

Have your heard of the saying ''Don't trust a skinny chef'' ?

No, but I have heard of 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'.

Very true. However, sadly, we live in a world which is all about first impressions, presentation and selling points. This lady is giving us the first impression that her judgement is fairly off balance if she has such radical plastic surgery and cannot see tht it has done no good. If she was selling food products, car cleaners etc fair enough. But she is selling beauty enhancing products and should reflect those products in her looks and style. Shallow I know, but there you are. It would be the same if a presenter came on covered in spots and selling products to give a clear skin.

Excellently put Tasi.

But the thing is, I'm not judging her. What we are trying to point out is that she is trying to sell a cosmetic item. When a guest comes in, many people tend to think that the guest uses the product. Don't you think that some viewers may be put off by her as she is saying its 'brilliant', but people will think that her 'brilliant' is different to thier 'brilliant' as 99% of the country probably think they don't like her look, and would think she likes other things Etc.

If she was selling craft or something, it would be a completely different sinareo, but the fact is, she is selling something for your face, which doesn't help selling items when you look like that. Just my opinion :)

Sorry Tasi, didn't see your post above before writing! But it shows it isn't just me who thinks that.

It is pointless us going over the same thing over and over again. Skin isn't just on your face. As mentioned earlier in this thread, if people want to remain shallow and accept that the abusive nature of the initial poster is fine then those people can stay in their pathetic little world whilst some of us prefer to say 'no' and try to make things a weeny bit better.

It is interesting that the thread on Harald on QVC on the exact same topic resulted in a huge response and got closed down.

No doubt this comment will be picked apart and analysed but in the end I couldn't give a monkeys doodar because those who can't see past their eyes and hear the lovely woman that is underneath don't warrant my attention.

But this lady just like Lulu on QVC is selling facial products which they claim give them their wonderful youthful looks. But that is false advertising as the cheek implants to plump up and give the youthful chipmunk cheeks the stretched skin are not because their skincare range works. This product does this that or the other. Clearly if they have had surgery that is not the case. Remember Joan Rivers selling skincare on QVC? It died on QVC UK because no one could take her seriously because of all the plastic surgery she had done. Dr.Denese(sp) range which is still sold on QVC US, died here because some actually complained about false advertising of what the product did. It was clear this lady also had plastic surgery. There is so much outrage now over the selling of cosmetics when the photos are airbrushed or false hair or lashes used. So no way will you look like that using the said products.

Harald is not selling skin care. The OP was down right nasty about him and his fashion comparing it to something a mature porn star would wear to please their man. Therefore saying that anyone on this site who actually bought the clothes would look like a mature porn star. Harald does look strange but his personality shines through so we don't judge him on his looks alone. He has even made fun of himself.

This may not be a very popular answer but tbh, I think someone would have commented upon this lady's appearance regardless of what she was selling...the fact it's skincare imo adds a bit of irony.
The thread isn't interested in whether she's nice or nasty...what have looks got to do with that? She looks shocking. I would hope nobody would be as crass as to make a comment if someone's unfortunate looks were down to Mother Nature, however, when someone has obviously spent a fortune trying to look young and beautiful, but ends up looking like an Egyptian mummy, I reckon it's comment worthy! What I will say though, if she is unhappy with the way she looks then good on her for hiding it, and for not hiding herself, but I reserve real sympathy for those who've HAD to go undergo surgery through no choice of their own.
