Getting the carat weights right

Why is it that when the information on screen gives the combined carat weight of coloured gem and diamond, the breakdown of the item running across the bottom of the screen frequently gives a much lower diamond weight, thus making the total carat weight much less. As it is, they deserve a prize for the huge amount of diamonds they can extract from a single point.

Totally agree I thought it was not just overly complicated but wrong too. While I am at it I think the website is misleading too. It says they have been in business since 98 but what they don't say it a good proportion of those years was nothing o do with jewellery but snatch it which was like bid up and jungle.com which at one point was competition for Amazon. For me they are trying to say the have been doing gems for that long.
