What has Julia done to her face? she has obviously had some kind of procedure and I sorry Julia think she looks dreadful

I was thinking how good she looked last night, and lately in general.

What is it that you think she's had done?

Not that obvious to me I'm afraid, can you enlighten me as she has stated she hasn't had work done.

I just thought it was the Mally make up and a different eyeshadow. I know she likes it but purple can make the eyes look older.

I have always had naturally dark eyelids yet fairish skin. I went to a Molton Brown make up counter in the 90's and the lady did a colour chart for me, which I have never forgotten. With dark luds avoid any purple, brick or grey on the eyes as these colours will make your eyes look heavy and dragged down if you have a light skin tone. I stuck to her advice all these years.

I thought Julia looked fab last night. Her makeup really suited her and her hair was shiny and bouncy. I think she's put on a bit of the weight she lost back on and it really suits her. Much kinder to her face and she still looks fab in a frock.

I don't think she's had any work done. She hasn't been off our screens long enough for a start. Even a peel would need a week or two's absence and there's no sign of fillers or Botox that I can see.

I thought she looked good last night. Now she still had the dark circles but her skin tone etc looked good. I really think they have got new lighting in the studio which has helped. Wasn't Mally going on about her primer doing the amazing results?

I haven't noticed she looks like she's had anything done. I have nothing against people having a moderate amount 'done' if that is what they want, but didn't notice anything in this case. Who I saw in the Mally and thought did look really good and better was Pippa.

Thicker, darker eyebrows?

Julia looked fab last night. Didn't look like any work had been done. Somehow, I don't think Julia would do this (at least not yet), but I may be totally wrong lol! And don't you think she'd have the bags under her eyes sorted if she was going to get work done? (I think the eye bags some of the presenters get are the result of late nights - there is a link between not getting enough sleep/working at night and getting puffy eye bags. And Alison and Julia do a lot of night-time shows.) Her skin did look good - probably some wonderful makeup combo. Hair fabulous, dress fabulous - Julia looking at her best.

Quite a few on facebook saying how great Kathy Taylor is looking too. So I think its Mally and different lighting in the studio.

I've been watching Julia's face, specifically her eye bags, for a long time.
I suspected that like me, she had a sensitivity to sulphates. Persistent use of something you are sensitive to can do damage & in my case sulphates wrecked the skin around my eyes, gave me huge eye bags and caused significant hair loss all over my body. Most people put such deterioration down to ageing and most of the time that is the cause, but it some rare cases it seems to speed up the process. According to a specialist I saw, the damage had kicked in quite a long time ago. He could tell by the thickness of my lids, my body's response to what was in a sense poisoning me and no cream created was going to reverse the damage. Keeping well away from sulphates would halt it, but only more invasive treatment could reverse it.
At one point I considered writing to Julia & suggesting she might want to investigate the possibility that something she was using was exacerbating the appearance of her eye bags, but as soon as the thought flashed in my mind, I decided that that would be too personal.
When Lulu made a comment about a presenter and eye bags when she was flogging her eye cream range, Alison Young said that Julia had a problem with sulphates so she knew already.

I would say be careful with what you use. Some anti-ageing potions are very powerful.
One of the authors of 'The Beauty Bible', either Jo Fairley or Sarah Stacey - can't remember which one sorry - puts her sensitivity down to using all the lotions & potions she has been given over the years to test/sample.
Natural skin care ranges can also be problematic.

sorry I can't see what you are on about regards work, I think Julia looks fine, infact I thought she looked stunning last night on the Mally show.

Her number 11 lines have gone and her forehead looks smoother.

Botox surely????

Perhaps she's been using the cheap Aldi wrinkle stop as my number 11's have nearly gone in just over a month since I've been using it once a day.

Thought her top lip looked a bit sus.

Just caught a glimpse on Renee. All I have to say is that she looks amazing and I hope I look as good in my 50's. Go girl!!

Oooh interesting! I use the Aldi serum and their anti ageing handcream. Both of them are really good. I looked at the wrinkle stop but did not get it. I dont have no 11s. I have 1,111s (Seriously) Were your lines deep Anne? Mine are pretty deep which makes me think nothing would make any difference.

Itchy, they seemed to go really deep overnight as did the lines on my forehead and I kid you not they have nearly gone. Am finding the eyecream at £1.49 ****** good as well. I'm 50 this year and I was moaning to my 21 year old DD about the redness I have on my face to her. She said "So what Mum you've no wrinkles" . Made my day!

well I've been using face oil in the past week to help with my dry face through the menopause. I have been alternating between the Decleor Aromessence oil from the TSV and the Liz Earle Superskin Oil Concentrate, and so far neither are making much difference but its early days!! but tell you what the Decleor feels quite dry and nice to use! whereas the Liz Earle is far more like cooking oil texture. Will see how things go.

Right! I am going to give that a go too! Luckily i don't have horizontal lines on my forhead and just a few crows feet. But the 1,111s are quite prominent so nothing ventured etc. I was 50 on Wednesday, but I don't look any older than I did when I was 49 he he! Thanks for info.
