now how could anyone feel bad while looking at that beautiful cat in your avatar ! I can look at cats all day long, when I feel a bit down I look at the cats for rehoming pages on animal charities' websites (not to take one on - Eric wouldn't tolerate another moggie, just to warm the cockles of my heart !)l.

Slightly off topic but spent a small fortune in the pdsa shop today. They have loads of 'new' stock for xmas, decorations and gifts. I bought a sign for my kitchen wall which says "Pets welcome. Children should be on a leash"

No poppet you didn`t upset me at all bless you. I laugh every Christmas imagining Dad`s face at all the gizmos and gadgets there are these days, he would baulk at an ipad or iphone lol and would have said what`s wrong with a book and a phone box ?
Then we`d have got the old lecture about when he was a lad he got an apple, orange and a threepenny bit for Christmas.....

re cats with no home. I'm going along to our local Cats Protection shelter on Mon - they are looking for volunteers for various activities (including "cat cuddling" :heart::heart
Aw, what a great thing to do... I wish I could do that but it would break my heart to leave them behind when I went home.
Thanks for caring and being strong enough to do that - it's a truly lovely thing to do.

I'm afraid I won't be able to join at 7 on Christmas Day as I'll probably be up to my elbows in suds after a late lunch - as our numbers have dwindled over the years, no bugger ever offers to help!

One day, I went 'cross the border to shop in a h-u-g-e shopping mall in TheStates. I saw a PetStore and hesitatingly looked in the doorway. PetStores made me feel sad. I had 4 kitties at home. A woman was cuddling a kitty and came up to me and asked if I'd like to cuddle the kitty. I stammered, "Oh, I'm from Canada, I couldn't take a pet back over the border." She answered, "Oh, I'm from Canada, too. I make it a point to go and cuddle each kitty and puppy in a PetStore. Mine may be the only cuddle they get that week." I nodded, smiled and strode away as fast as I could. I sat down at a bench while my mind absorbed what she said. What a selfish idiot, I had only thinking about My feelings. Not that I could share my heart with a FurryFluffball for a few minutes so that when its ForeverMum/Dad adopted them, they would know all about Cuddling! After that, I did cuddle/pray for GoodHomes for LittleOnes in the PetStores. That woman 'Showed' rather than 'Taught' me a lesson that day. Eric'sMama - (((hugs))) :heart:

well, I went and I loved it, start "work" next Tues ! There are 70 cats would you believe and all are beautiful. My job is cuddler & socialiser to start with, might be promoted to litter-tray cleaner if I can get up a bit earlier ! I think they'll have to search me on the way out as I might be tempted to smuggle out one of the kittens under my jumper !

Good on you. I daren't even think about it. Him in the avatar would be most put out if I brought another cat home. He's not overly keen on my ex-husband being let through the door ... lol.
