Just watched a 9k yellow gold chain, 0.8g in weight, sell on gems tv, for £29.99. A lot of the jewellery looks bigger than it actually is, so I wanted to compare the Q's prices per carat weight. On the website, I could only find the weight given for one gold chain - it was at a special price,so good vfm - so it was difficult to compare prices equally. Why is anyone going to order a chain when they don't even know what weight it is? More importantly, why are we not given the weight? Because then we will realise it is probably hollow, and more of a trace chain.

Anybody else remember the good old days when £10 per gram was the going rate for mine carat gold? Eek I'm showing my age!

I can remember when it was much less than £10 I think it was about half that price when I bought some of my gold jewellery.
