Thank you for all your lovely messages, it's a very sad day for me today as received the phonecall at 3pm and burst into tears as had no idea this was coming and honestly thought everything was ok I was as shocked as you guys these channels have been my life for 9 years now. Its not been a good week for her as on Tuesday she posted....My beautiful and courageous mam has been diagnosed with cancer today for the 2nd time in 4 years, mam you had to console me in the hospital on hearing the news, when i should have been the one consoling you but it's a testament to the mother you are. You've beat it once we can do it again I love you mama Brash xxxxxxxx

I think television professionals like Mark Ryes and Caroline Lyndsay will be fine, they'll get TV work i'm sure. And I really hope Justin is fine too, he has a nice voice so maybe he'll get voice over work.

But it's hard to imagine people like Far, Evers, Gollum and Sally being picked up really. Let's face it, they are no more bona fide TV pro's than a plastic Worry Angel is a bona fide friend.

To be frank the four of them are atrocious. And don't get me onto Schlocko and Dirty Peter, other than Pantomime Dames it's difficult to imagine what they have to offer in a visual sense. These two cartoon characters have little to put on the plate other than effeminate bullshit.

And as for the appalling Neil Russell? He will surely just disappear into the ether, perhaps he really will get a job as a Deputy Manager at Travelodge. He certainly has the wardrobe and greasy hair for it :mysmilie_59:

Technically many of the presenters haven't lost their jobs as they were freelance and got paid on appearance, being freelance should mean they have other work outside bid/pd.

And as far as I can see no venom or hatred has been aimed at the normal worker such as your operatives, Camera men, Tech guys, warehouse workers etc.

its not really hatred we just wanted them to be honest and that's something they didn't do. I've watched the channels for 10 years and you must see how bad they have become from the glory days

If you read back through the posts, you'll see that most people have actually said that the only people they feel sorry for is the genuine casualties in this (the call centre staff, warehouse staff, etc).

The "venom" and "hatred" as you call it, is aimed at the owners and/or presenters who, over the years, in some shape or form, have played a part in suspicious sales tactics in order to make money. This is not an accusation either. This is fact that is available for all to see on the ASA website. They've been warned time and time again - and still continued to use dodgy sales pitch and/or tactics.

What cost the company in the end was people becoming wise to their tactics and deciding to shop elsewhere - using trustworthy companies that offered better quality products at better prices.

The company sealed their own demise - and therefore, they get very little sympathy from me. The genuine staff that have set about their day to day work behind the scenes? Yes, I have sympathy. Those responsible for fooling the vulnerable? No.

I got physically marched out of Bid with an escort because I told them what they were doing to the company would not work! Nasty shits have proved they had no idea and drove the bus over a cliff despite being told to stop. Number one rule in any business is 'listen to your staff'. If that quote is true, then for actually having the guts to do what should have been done but hardly anyone else had bothered to do (except perhaps Debbie Greenwood for refusing a new contract and perhaps one or two others as well), (Lord) Guy Kean is now officially an even more wonderful person than he was already. A true legend. A hero.

Put another way, if several presenters had ganged up against Sit-up management in 2009 (when Virgin Media sold them on) and/or on later occasions, then history could have been very different. (Of course a different presenter clearout was also needed but that's another thing altogether. But subsequent events may not have been anywhere near as bad as they were.)

Virgin sensibly got rid of the group when it started to fall apart, though it would have been interesting to see what would have happened had they kept it.

The disgusting vultures on shoppingtelly.com seem happy. Disgusting people, if you thought the rota threads on here were a bit stalkery then they just take it to another level completely. Even now they are talking about a presenters children. Bid Shopping should probably have sued them rather than funded them through advertising.

That website is totally abhorrent. The creatures that inhabit it are lower than scum. It's always bad when a group of people genuinely dedicated to their work lose their jobs, but it's even worse when people revel in it.

They won't be so happy in two weeks time when it hits them they need to find something to do with their lives.

They need to put some chunks of bid on iTunes...there's nothing to watch

Oh they were certainly dedicated to their work alright. Very, very dedicated. And maybe we are abhorrent but as far as i'm aware we haven't been party to ripping off old ladies so I can live with being abhorrent.

They've gone bust, it's nobody else's fault but their own. You simply cannot and clearly will not get away with carrying on the way they have, they've finally been busted and that's the end of it.

But it's highly pertinent that these cheerleaders never mention the customers. One can only presume, directly or indirectly, they have some sort of a connection with the company (or I should say they had a connection).

It's as hypocritical as Guy Kean's bullshit. He said the new bosses are mean? What, like that silly old queen saying that some ladies wear dresses that make them look like something is trying to escape. Or saying with a **** £10 credit you are virtually buying something for almost nothing. He appeared to literally sneer through his shifts.

He is clearly deluded, maybe it's a defence mechanism to try and block out all the sneaky, underhand tactics that he appeared so very happy to take part in when he had his snout in the Sit-Up trough. He only seemed to gain a conscience once they canned him. Strange that.

He would do well to look at Mr Hodgson, he might learn a thing or two on how to conduct himself on exiting a company. And make himself more employable too.
