Lock & Lock TSV 12/4/16

I could well be up for some. I have never found better than Lock & Lock containers.....

Agree, it's definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

I've got locking containers I bought from the Pound Shop in Kilburn years ago and they all work fine! I store my rice in one, oats in another etc, whey powder in another etc. Got sandwich boxes that have performed well.

Too often sets have too many bits you don't want so now I tend to buy individual pieces albeit more expensive but Mr L can only take so many containers falling out of the cupboard everytime he opens it especially since half of them are never used.

Mr Akimbo calls our "storage" cupboard "Plastic Hell"; even though 30 random pieces fall out when he opens it, he still can't find the lid for the box he wants to use! :mysmilie_19::mysmilie_19: I'm pretty sure if he ever divorces me for "unreasonable behaviour" he'll cite this and many other tailor-made annoyances.

I bought some containers from Aldi a few weeks ago as they had useful sizes. I find them hard to close compared to the Lock&Lock ones so if they are reasonable sizes will be buying a set.

I've loads of storage containers, but I do like my Lock & Lock. If it's the clear ones, I will be sorely tempted as you can see exactly what's in them without endlessly opening the container and checking.

I use a chalk marker to put dates etc on my tubs - the Uni ones wipe off easily with soapy water.

I'm really looking forward to this TSV - I hope the set is a 'nesting' one to save space.

Still have my Lock and Lock's from when they used to sell loads years ago, lost count of how long that is, one and only ONE lid has damaged (out of 20+) and that one was a small beaker type which has a lot smaller lock than on square shaped type, so they do live up to their claims. They are used daily for my family of 5 lunches and yes, they do tumble out of the cupboard even though I try and organise them well. Teenage kids not putting them away properly tends to make that happen.

Yes I got some from Aldi, thought UT was just me finding it hard to lock them. Trouble opening most things, as for child locks aaaggghhhh.

Each to their own, but Lock and Lock seem like overpriced Tupperware. They are just lunchboxes with plastic wings akin to the flaps on a sanitary towel. Does anyone remember the ridiculous demo they used to do with those machines opening and closing the lids about 500 times per hour? And that bloke with the dodgy Tom Selleck paintbrush moustache that looked like something from a cheap German porno film. I can almost imagine it now...

Woman answers doorbell:

DODGY SALESMAN: I've come to demonstrate my innovative lunchboxes with flaps.
WOMAN: Oooh come in! My husbands just popped out for half an hour..

Well I have bought cheaper versions of lock n lock in supermarkets/pound shops etc and they in my opinion are nowhere near as good and food does seem to stay much fresher in them as they are so airtight, I still have a large collection I bought from Q some years ago, I think it worked out about a £1 an item, they are still going strong. I says a lot about Q when a lock n lock tsv is a welcome break from the same old stuff that keeps appearing
